    • Sitting against lefty
Tauchman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Tauchman will retreat to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Max Fried takes the hill for Atlanta. He'll indirectly cede his spot in the lineup to infielder Nick Madrigal, who draws the start at third base while Christopher Morel replaces Tauchman as the Cubs' designated hitter. • Resting against lefty
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: With a tough southpaw (Cole Ragans) taking the hill for Kansas City, the lefty-hitting Carpenter will retreat to the bench for the series finale. Mark Canha will replace Carpenter in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:28 am
    • Records 15th steal
Acuna went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Cubs.

Advice: The steal was Acuna's first since May 4, an unusually long drought without a theft for the speedy outfielder. He was caught on his only attempt over 12 games between steals. Acuna has struggled to get into a rhythm at the plate this season, slashing .247/.355/.351 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 36 runs scored and 15 steals over 203 plate appearances. Some regression from last year's 41-homer, 73-steal campaign was to be expected in 2024, but Acuna's career-low .706 OPS so far has been a brutal overcorrection. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:50 pm
    • Mike Tauchman drives in two in Cubs’ victory
Mike Tauchman went 2-for-5 and knocked in two runs Tuesday as the Cubs edged the Braves 4-3 in 10 innings.

Advice: Nico Hoerner’s infield chopper won the game in the 10th. Tauchman’s first single tonight came in at 110.3 mph, obliterating his previous season high of 105.2 mph. It was his hardest-hit ball since 2020. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:32 pm
    • Productive from leadoff spot
Tauchman went 2-for-5 with two RBI in Tuesday's 4-3, extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Advice: Tauchman served as the leadoff hitter and DH in this one, and he continued his solid play, pushing his average to .262 and his OPS to .789. The veteran is seeing regular time at DH and in right field, with Seiya Suzuki also in the mix for both spots. Tauchman isn't the most exciting fantasy option, but he's worth a look in deeper formats given his role and production. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:14 pm
    • Homers in loss
Gurriel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Gurriel snapped a 26-game homer drought with his eighth-inning blast. The outfielder has gone 11-for-45 (.244) over his last 12 contests, adding just five RBI and five runs scored in that span. He's at a .236/.284/.385 slash line with six homers, 27 RBI, 24 runs scored and two stolen bases over 44 contests this season. He's never posted a batting average lower than .261 or an OPS lower than .743 over a full season, so there's room for Gurriel to turn things around in 2024. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:32 pm
    • Goes deep in loss
Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, an additional run scored and two total RBI in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Carpenter continued a strong month of May, as he's batting .325 this month with three home runs, nine runs scored and 10 RBI across 14 games. He's now up to six long balls overall to go along with a solid .893 OPS. Carpenter still sits regularly against southpaws, but he's producing enough against righties to be an effective fantasy contributor. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:29 pm
    • Carpenter leaves the yard Monday
Kerry Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, a sacrifice, two runs scored and two RBI against the Royals on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Carpenter’s sixth of the season. He’s hitting .285 with an .893 OPS with the majority of his at-bats coming against right-handed pitching. It can certainly be frustrating for fantasy managers when Carpenter is on the bench against left-handed starters or gets pinch-hit for late in games. He was 16-for-68 (.235) against left-handed pitchers in 2023, though, so it’s hard to argue the logic even on nights when it’s readily apparent that Carpenter is the Tigers’ best offensive weapon.

    • On bench for Game 2
Merrill is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader in Atlanta.

Advice: Merrill started in center field in Game 1 and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, as he brought home San Diego's first two runs on a groundout and a single. Jose Azocar will take over in center field for the nightcap. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:43 pm
