    • Hitless since return
Lowe went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Lowe was activated from the injured list Monday and made his second straight start at second base. He's gone hitless across seven plate appearances while striking out three times. Lowe has hit third and fourth in the two contests against right-handed pitching. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:09 am
    • Rays activate Brandon Lowe for Monday return
Rays activated 2B Brandon Lowe from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: It’s hard to feel too confident about Lowe considering he experienced multiple setbacks during his rehab assignment and had to see a specialist. However, the Rays feel that he’s healthy enough to return; however, he was hitting just .185/.267/.333 with a homer and four RBI in eight games before being sidelined. Lowe has produced power in the past, but we also know that he will sit against left-handed pitching and the batting average will not be much of a help in fantasy leagues, which makes him tough to roster outside of deeper daily moves leagues. • Activated from injured list
The Rays activated Lowe (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Lowe had his return from an oblique strain delayed when he had a little setback, but he returned to action on his rehab assignment in recent days and now appears back to 100 percent. He had a .600 OPS with one home run in eight games before getting hurt and will regain his role as Tampa Bay's regular second baseman against right-handers. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:38 am
    • Pops first homer of May
Altuve went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Altuve led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run, his eighth of the season and first since April 28. He's hit a moderate slump in May, as he's hitting .243 with six RBI and nine runs scored across 17 games, though he has chipped in three stolen bases. Altuve has maintained a .854 OPS across the first 207 plate appearances of the campaign, so there's little reason for concern about his slightly slower stretch of production. • Brandon Lowe (oblique) could return on Monday
Brandon Lowe (oblique) could be activated from the injured list and return to the Rays’ lineup on Monday.

Advice: The 29-year-old slugger will restart his minor league rehab assignment on Saturday and is set to play games on back-to-back days at Triple-A Durham. If all goes well with that, he’ll be cleared to rejoin the Rays for Monday’s series opener against the Red Sox. Lowe has been close to returning before, only to suffer a setback and require some extra time, so we’ll believe it when we see it. Rotoworld Friday, 4:07 pm
    • Continuing rehab stint Saturday
Lowe (oblique) will resume his rehab assignment Saturday at Triple-A Durham, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe initially landed on the injured list April 12 with a strained right oblique, and he played four rehab games in the minors before a setback temporarily halted his progress Sunday. Now that he's been cleared to get back on the field, the plan is for Lowe to play two more games with Durham before returning to Tampa Bay on Monday ahead of the team's upcoming series against Boston. • Should resume rehab assignment soon
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that Lowe (oblique) will rejoin the team in Tampa Bay and will resume swinging the bat before heading back out on a minor-league rehab assignment in short order, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Cash's comments came after Lowe was pulled off his assignment with Durham when he experienced renewed soreness in his right oblique during his fourth rehab game Sunday. Lowe visited a spine surgeon Tuesday for further consultation on his injury, with Cash noting that further imaging showed the second baseman was "heading in the right direction" with his recovery. Cash said that Lowe may still have to manage some pain moving forward, but the 29-year-old at least appears to have steered clear of a major setback. If he's able to return to Durham and resume playing in games by this weekend, Lowe could be ready to come off the 10-day injured list at some point next week. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:59 am
    • Seeing specialist Tuesday
Lowe said following his rehab game Sunday with Triple-A Durham that he felt "something" in his right oblique and he will visit a specialist Tuesday in Nashville, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe started at second base with Durham on Sunday, going 1-for-5 with a three-run home run and striking out three times. The 29-year-old has gone 3-for-10 with two home runs and three walks over his four rehab games and appeared to be on the cusp of a return from the 10-day injured list, but his activation will be delayed while he consults with a specialist after possibly aggravating the oblique injury. Richie Palacios and Amed Rosario are expected to continue operating in a platoon at second base until Lowe is deemed ready to join the big club. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:40 pm
    • Brandon Lowe seeing specialist after setback
Brandon Lowe will visit a specialist on Tuesday due to continued oblique problems during his rehab assignment.

Advice: Lowe played second base and homered for Triple-A Durham on Sunday, but he’s still not feeling right. It seems safe to say he won’t be coming off the injured list this week. Rotoworld Monday, 2:30 pm
