      Advice: Hudson allowed two earned runs in his final appearance of May, but he gave up only two all season prior to that, and he has not allowed any runs through eight frames in June.       Anderson (6-7) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out five over seven innings to take the loss versus the Brewers on Wednesday.

      Advice: Anderson held an opponent to one run for the sixth time in his last seven starts, but a lack of run support from the Angels stuck him with another loss. In that seven-start span, he's walked at least three batters four times and hasn't struck out more than five batters in any outing. The southpaw is at a 2.48 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 63:41 K:BB through 94.1 innings through 15 starts this year. Anderson is projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics.       Tyler Anderson held the Brewers to one run with five strikeouts over seven innings in a loss on Wednesday.

      Advice: Anderson would take a tough-luck loss in this one as the Angels could get him no run support against Freddy Peralta. He allowed just one run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning before settling in for six more scoreless frames, striking out five. The 34-year-old left-hander will take a 2.48 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 63/41 K/BB ratio across 94 1/3 innings into a start against the Athletics in Anaheim on Wednesday.       Waldron (5-6) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-2 victory over the Phillies, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: Aside from a Bryce Harper solo shot in the third inning, Waldron shut down the Phillies' offense over a season-high 104 pitches (64 strikes). The knuckleballer reeled off his fifth straight quality start, a stretch in which he's produced a dazzling 1.35 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB through 33.1 innings.       Matt Waldron allowed one run over seven innings on Wednesday in a win over the Phillies.

      Advice: Waldron was extremely impressive on a sizzling-hot, 87-degree afternoon at Citizens Bank Park, finishing with six strikeouts and only handing out a pair of free passes. His lone mistake came in the third inning when he left a sinker out over the plate to Phillies superstar Bryce Harper, who promptly deposited it into the left-field grandstand. The 27-year-old knuckleballer has allowed two earned runs or fewer in eight consecutive starts dating back to May 11. He’ll bring a rapidly-improving 3.46 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 76/25 K/BB ratio across 83 1/3 innings (15 starts) into a favorable home outing on Monday against the Nationals.       Irvin (5-6) took the loss Tuesday as the Nationals fell 5-0 to the Diamondbacks, giving up four runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out two.

      Advice: A lack of offensive support gave the right-hander no margin for error, but Irvin did himself no favors by tossing first-pitch strikes to only 11 of the 22 batters he faced and issuing a season high in free passes. In fact, the 27-year-old hadn't walked more than two batters in any 2024 start prior to Tuesday. Irvin will take a 3.24 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 71:19 K:BB through 86 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road this weekend in Coors Field.     • Irvin gives up four runs in loss to Diamondbacks
      Jake Irvin allowed four earned runs on eight hits over five innings while striking out two in Tuesday’s loss to the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Irvin allowed the first three batters he faced to reach base, but it was the two-run homer by Ketel Marte that put him in a hole early. Irvin would go on to pitch two scoreless innings before surrendering two more runs in the fifth, which would be his final inning. It was just the second time this year that Irvin has allowed four or more runs in an outing, as he’s been one of the core members of a Nationals rotation that has surprised in the first half of the season.       Advice: Gilbert generated 21 whiffs Sunday, punching out eight batters for the fourth time this season while blanking the Rangers. The 27-year-old has now gone deeper than six innings in three straight starts and has walked merely one batter across his last 33.2 innings. He's tied with Corbin Burnes and Tanner Houck for the league lead with 12 quality starts and paces MLB with 98.1 innings pitched.       Wheeler (8-4) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

      Advice: It was a long day for Wheeler, who allowed four homers after having previously allowed only six long balls over his first 14 starts this season. The eight earned runs allowed matched a career high for Wheeler, who hadn't given up that many in a start since 2018. Sunday's poor effort raised his ERA from 2.16 to 2.84. Wheeler had won his previous eight decisions prior to Sunday's loss, which dropped him to 8-4 on the season. He'll look to get back on track during his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Diamondbacks come to Philly for a rematch of last season's NLCS.
