      Ober and the Twins won't play Saturday against the Athletics after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

    • Hunter Brown dominates in victory over Tigers
      Hunter Brown delivered a dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, racking up nine strikeouts over seven innings of shutout baseball.

      Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander didn’t walk a batter on the night and all five of the hits that he allowed were singles. Brown generated 15 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the night — four or more on each of his sinker, cutter and slider — while registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine performance as he carries a 5.00 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 76/29 K/BB ratio (68 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the White Sox in Chicago.       Brown (3-5) earned the win Friday against Detroit, allowing five hits and no walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out nine.

      Advice: Brown entered the game on a hot streak, firing a 2.25 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB in 24 innings over his last four starts. He kept rolling, generating 15 whiffs en route to tying his season high with nine punchouts. The right-hander has been outstanding since May 1, going 3-1 with a 2.58 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 52:15 K:BB in 45.1 innings over seven starts.       Valdez (5-4) took the loss Wednesday against San Francisco, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out one.

      Advice: It was a tough day for Valdez, who allowed two runs in the third inning before the Giants scored three more in the fourth. The 30-year-old Valdez had allowed just five runs in three starts (22 innings) coming into Wednesday's matchup. The left-hander now sports a 3.99 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB across 67.2 innings this year.       Framber Valdez was shelled for five runs over four innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Giants.

      Advice: On the heels of a complete-game effort his last time out, Valdez was pulled in this one after just 59 pitches (37 strikes) following four frames. Houston’s ace wasn’t particularly effective in this one as the Giants tagged him for eight hits over four frames. He finished with just one strikeout and only handed out one free pass. He’ll bring a solid 3.99 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 51/19 K/BB ratio across 67 2/3 innings (11 starts) into a favorable road tilt on Wednesday against the floundering White Sox.       McKenzie (3-3) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a 5-3 victory over the Reds. He struck out four.

      Advice: The right-hander got a quick hook after 75 pitches (43 strikes) with the Guardians ahead 3-2, but the bullpen and offense were able to secure McKenzie's first win since April 19. He's failed to complete six innings in any of his last four trips to the mound, but on the bright side, he kept the ball in the yard Tuesday after serving up eight homers over his three prior outings. McKenzie will take a 4.10 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 65:38 K:BB through 68 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Mariners.       Luzardo (3-5) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a 4-2 victory over the Mets. He struck out four.

      Advice: The southpaw had a bumpy second inning that included plunking his first batters of the year, but Luzardo was otherwise sharp and left the mound after 91 pitches (62 strikes). Since returning from a flexor strain in mid-May, he's gone 3-3 in six starts with a 4.04 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB over 35.2 innings.       Jesús Luzardo allowed two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: Luzardo had four strikeouts to just one walk while inducing 16 whiffs on 49 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW. He also struggled to command both his slider and changeup on the day, posting sub-40 percent zone rates on both pitches. The left-hander was pulled at 91 pitches with one runner on in the sixth inning. This was an important start for Luzardo’s trade value as the 26th-year-old now has a 5.11 ERA on the season heading into another good matchup against the Nationals this weekend.
