    • Quiets Padres on Saturday
Quintana (2-5) earned the win over San Diego on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

Advice: The only run Quintana allowed in the outing came on a fifth-inning Jackson Merrill solo homer. In fact, that was the only hit Quintana surrendered aside from a Fernando Tatis double in the first frame. This was the fourth time Quintana has given up fewer than two runs in a start this season, though it was the first instance in which such a performance resulted in a victory. The veteran's six strikeouts Saturday marked a season high. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

    • Stuck with loss Saturday
Walker (4-3) allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk with one strikeout over one inning to take the loss Saturday versus the Angels.

Advice: Walker's scoreless streak ended at 5.1 innings, though a two-out throwing error by Curt Casali contributed to the Giants giving up the decisive run in the seventh inning. Walker has allowed four runs (three earned) over 7.1 innings in June, and he's added four holds this month as he continues to see an increasingly large high-leverage role. He's at a 2.48 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 46:7 K:BB with 13 holds over 36.1 innings this season. While it hasn't happened yet in 2024, Walker would likely be next in line for save chances whenever Camilo Doval is unavailable, as Tyler Rogers has typically struggled when given ninth-inning assignments. • Scott McGough works 2 1/3 as opener vs. White Sox
Scott McGough allowed a run over 2 1/3 innings in a start against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: McGough was essentially an opener for a bullpen day, but he ended up going deeper than the arms behind him. The right-hander struck out two while issuing one walk. There’s a good chance McGough works in a similar capacity next week against the Phillies, but there’ll be no reason for fantasy consideration. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Erick Fedde hurls six strong in victory over ARI
Erick Fedde went six innings while allowing two runs to get a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Fedde did allow eight hits, but he didn’t put anyone on via walk while striking out six. The right-hander gave up runs in the first and fifth inning and he was able to avoid the big inning for another strong outing for the 31-year-old. The White Sox have been a disaster, but Fedde has been an absolute bright spot with a 3.09 ERA through 87 1/3 innings. He’s scheduled to take on the Tigers on Friday. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Homers in loss
Soto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Soto recently battled a forearm injury, and that may have been bothering him during an eight-game stretch without a homer. He also walked multiple times for the sixth time in 11 contests in June. The outfielder continues to put up superstar numbers with 18 homers, 55 RBI, 58 runs scored, four stolen bases and a .319/.435/.599 slash line over 70 games this season. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

    • Win streak snapped in Boston
Rodon (9-3) allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven over five innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Red Sox.

Advice: Rodon had posted a quality start in each outing during his seven-game winning streak, but both impressive stretches were snapped Saturday. The Red Sox put up all five runs against Rodon during the first two innings, and the Yankees' offense wasn't able to muster a comeback. The southpaw still has a strong 3.28 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP and 81:23 K:BB through 85 innings over 15 starts this year. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is projected to be at home versus Atlanta. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago
