• Confirmed to start Saturday
Plesac will start Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: After posting a quality start his Angels debut, Plesac will get another go-around in the rotation as a fill-in for Jose Soriano (abdomen) who's on the 15-day IL. While Plesac only allowed three runs in his first start, he surrendered a pair of home runs and will face a power-heavy Dodgers lineup Saturday. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
  • Set for rehab start Tuesday
Kershaw (shoulder) will make his second rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Kershaw made his first rehab outing with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday, when he allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out five over three innings. His fastball reached 90 miles per hour, which was right around his velocity in the 2023 regular season. Kershaw will need multiple rehab outings before joining the Dodgers' rotation, which could happen around the All-Star break in mid-July. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Clayton Kershaw to make second rehab start Tuesday
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will make his second minor league rehab start at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Advice: The 36-year-old southpaw threw 36 pitches over three innings in his first minor league rehab start at High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday. Expect that he’ll build up to around 50 pitches during Tuesday’s outing. The original expectation was that Kershaw would require around four minor league rehab starts before he was ready to join the Dodgers’ rotation. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

  • Continuing recovery at Arizona
Bradford (rib/back) is throwing a bullpen session Friday and then will be sent to the Rangers' Arizona Complex League affiliate, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Bradford has been sidelined since April with a lower back strain and a stress fracture in his rib. However, he's been making steady progression in June and will continue his recovery process in Arizona. While it's unclear when Bradford will start facing hitters, a return shortly after the All-Star break seems feasible. Rotowire.com Today, 4:16 pm

  • Rehab moved to Single-A
Burrows (elbow) had his rehab assignment transferred from the rookie-level Florida Complex League to Single-A Bradenton on Friday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Burrows continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery from April of 2023. He made his first rehab outing in the rookie-level FCL on Monday, when he gave up three runs on one hit and two walks over 1.1 innings. Burrows is expected to start for Bradenton early next week. • Throwing off mound Saturday
McCullers (shoulder) is scheduled Saturday to throw 25 warmup pitches and then take a break to mimic a half-inning before throwing more pitches, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Saturday's session will be McCullers' first up-down since undergoing surgery last June. He's expected to simulate one more up-down before the Astros consider having McCullers face hitters. For now, McCullers is on track for an August return. Rotowire.com Today, 3:59 pm
  • Reinstated from IL
Junis (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day injured list Friday.

Advice: After making the Brewers' rotation to start the season, Junis only made one start before being placed on the IL with a pinched nerve in his throwing shoulder. A few weeks later, his recovery was delayed after being hit in the head by a ball during batting practice. However, after two months, Junis will finally return to Milwaukee's active roster. While he threw a four-inning simulated game this week, Junis is expected to work out of the bullpen before eventually re-entering the rotation. Bradley Blalock was optioned to Double-A Biloxi in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 3:35 pm

  • Padres option Adam Mazur to Triple-A El Paso
Padres optioned RHP Adam Mazur to Triple-A EL Paso.

Advice: With Yu Darvish expected to return from the injured list next week, Mazur’s time in the rotation was coming to an end, so they’ll option him out now in order to get a fresh arm in their bullpen for the weekend. The 23-year-old hurler went 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and a cringe-inducing 11/16 K/BB ratio over 17 1/3 innings in his first four big-league starts. Rotoworld Today, 3:32 pm

  • Returns to Biloxi
The Brewers optioned Blalock to Double-A Biloxi on Friday.

Advice: Blalock was called up Wednesday and fired a scoreless inning against the Padres on Thursday, but he'll head back to Double-A to make room for Jakob Junis (shoulder) on the active roster. Blalock owns a 4.24 ERA across 51.0 innings at Biloxi this season. Rotowire.com Today, 3:30 pm
