• Goes back to minors
The Cardinals optioned Kloffenstein to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.

Advice: Kloffenstein turned in a 1-2-3 inning in his major-league debut Thursday versus the Giants to help out a depleted Cardinals bullpen but will quickly head back to Memphis. The big righty will re-enter Memphis' starting rotation, where he's collected a 3.97 ERA and 1.13 WHIP through 77 innings across 14 starts. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago
  • Blue Jays activated Yariel Rodriguez from IL
Blue Jays activated RHP Yariel Rodriguez from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Rodriguez will start Friday night’s game against the Guardians. He made four starts with Toronto earlier this season and had a 4.11 ERA and 1.76 WHIP. Rodriguez never pitched more than four innings in any of his starts. The 27-year-old right-hander is off the fantasy radar until he can he work deeper into games. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
  • Pushed back to next week
Peterson will no longer start Sunday versus the Cubs after being pushed back in the Mets' rotation, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: It's not clear when Peterson's next start will come, but it now figures to be early next week against the Yankees. Luis Severino has been bumped up to start Sunday in Chicago on regular rest. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago
  • Moved up to start Sunday
Severino will move up in the Mets' rotation to start Sunday against the Cubs, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Severino had been slated to start Tuesday versus his former club, the Yankees, but will be bumped up a couple days to take the ball on regular rest. David Peterson had been on turn for Sunday but now figures to take the ball next week against the Yankees. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago
  • Slated for bulk relief
Ortiz is in line to serve as a bulk reliever in Friday's game versus the Rays, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Carmen Mlodzinski will open for the Pirates before handing things off to Ortiz. Each of Ortiz's last two appearances have come in bulk relief and he's fared well, yielding just one run with a 6:1 K:BB over 9.1 innings of work. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Reinstated to start Friday
The Blue Jays reinstated Rodriguez (back) from the 15-day injured list to start Friday against the Guardians.

Advice: The right-hander has been on the shelf since late April due to thoracic spine inflammation, but he'll re-enter Toronto's rotation for Friday's series opener in Cleveland. Rodriguez built up to 79 pitches in his final rehab outing and should be able to handle a full starting workload. However, the Blue Jays were handling the 27-year-old's workload carefully prior to the injury, so it's possible Rodriguez is utilized in conjunction with Bowden Francis, who has been handling a bulk-relief role. • Allows three runs in no-decision
Mazur did not factor into the decision in a win over the Brewers on Thursday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Mazur allowed one run in the first inning after surrendering a leadoff double to Brice Turang to open the contest, but the right-hander was able to keep the Brewers' offense at bay over the next three frames as San Diego took a 4-1 lead. The 23-year-old's luck would run out in the fifth, however, when Willy Adames chased him from the game with a two-run shot. Mazur has now failed to make it through five innings in each of his last three starts, allowing 13 runs over that stretch while posting a putrid 9:12 K:BB. He's likely to be pushed out of the rotation as soon as Yu Darvish (groin) returns. Rotowire.com Today, 7:05 am

  • Allows three homers in no-decision
Wilson did not factor into the decision in Thursday's loss to the Padres, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out five.

Advice: Wilson failed to retire five of the first seven batters he faced to open the contest, surrendering back-to-back homers to Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill in the first to put the Brewers in an early 4-1 hole. The right-hander would settle in over the next three frames before coughing up another long ball in the fifth. It was Wilson's first time this season in which he allowed multiple home runs in a start and he's now given up at least five runs in two of his last three outings. He's also walked multiple batters in three consecutive starts. Rotowire.com Today, 5:32 am

  • Picks up win despite shaky outing
Pallante (3-3) picked up the win over the Giants on Thursday, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.1 innings while striking out five.

Advice: Pallante cruised through the first two innings before failing to retire four of the first five batters he faced in the third, leading to three runs coming home for San Francisco. The right-hander would get tagged for another two runs in the sixth, marking the second time in his last four that he's coughed up at least five runs. Pallante also matched his season high with three walks and failed to make it through six innings for the fourth-consecutive outing. Despite those struggles, he's now won three of his last five starts. Rotowire.com Today, 5:01 am
