    Advice: Alvarez underwent surgery on a torn UCL in his left thumb April 23. The timeline for his return is eight weeks, which puts the catcher out of action until around late June.   • Francisco Alvarez has stitches removed from thumb
    Francisco Alvarez had the stitches from his surgically repaired left thumb removed Monday.

    Advice: Alvarez is currently with the Mets to take part in the pitcher/catcher meetings according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. The backstop is two weeks into what is expected to be a two-month rehab after undergoing surgery to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb.
