• Fans six in win
Fedde (5-1) picked up the win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing two runs on eight hits over six innings while striking out six.

Advice: Fedde got himself into trouble early and often, surrendering leadoff hits in four of his six innings of work. However, the right-hander was able to limit the damage to just two runs, one of which came across in the opening frame. He threw only 12 first-pitch strikes (out of 26) but still managed to hang on for his first win since May 14 against the Nationals. Fedde has now logged quality starts in back-to-back outings and in three of his last five starts overall. He also carries an impressive 17:1 K:BB through three June starts. • Goes on bereavement leave
The Cardinals placed Gibson on the bereavement list Sunday.

Advice: Gibson has left the team following a death in the family. Per MLB rules, players placed on the bereavement list have to be deactivated for a minimum of three days and a maximum of seven days, making it unclear if Gibson will be ready to rejoin the team ahead of his next scheduled start. The Cardinals had confirmed Gibson as their starting pitcher for Wednesday's game in Miami, though that announcement was made prior to his placement on the bereavement list. • Picks up 10th win
Lugo (10-2) picked up the win over the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over six innings while striking out four.

Advice: Lugo did a great job of working his way out of trouble for most of the contest, with the exception of the fourth inning when he allowed back-to-back hits to open the frame and also hit Jason Heyward with a pitch before eventually surrendering two runs. The right-hander would allow just two more hits over his final two innings of work, notching his 11th quality start of the season and his first this month. Lugo is now tied with Ranger Suarez for the major league lead in wins with 10 and has gone at least six innings in five consecutive outings. Rotowire.com Today, 7:23 am
  • Called up, shifts to 60-day IL
Atlanta recalled Ynoa from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday and placed him on the 60-day injured list with a right elbow stress reaction, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Ynoa was optioned to Gwinnett coming out of spring training and made two starts in the minors before landing on the club's 7-day IL on April 23 with what was termed as right elbow inflammation. The 26-year-old's injury is now being classified differently, and since he's already been out of action at Triple-A for nearly two months, his move to Atlanta's 60-day IL won't affect his timeline for a return to the mound. Instead, the transaction temporarily removes Ynoa from Atlanta's 40-man roster and opens up a spot for right-hander Grant Holmes, whose contract was selected from Gwinnett ahead of Sunday's series finale with the Rays. • Back with big club as 27th man
The Twins recalled Varland from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Advice: Varland had previously been optioned to St. Paul on Wednesday, one day after he was summoned from Triple-A to make a spot start against the Rockies. Though he delivered five shutout innings while taking a no-decision against Colorado, he'll be back with the Twins as a long-relief option Sunday, as Minnesota has designated him as its 27th man for its doubleheader with Oakland. Bailey Ober and Chris Paddack will start the first and second games of the twin bill, respectively. Rotowire.com Today, 6:52 am

  • Allows season-high six runs
Jones (4-6) took the loss against the Rockies on Saturday, allowing six runs on six hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Jones struck out three of the first four batters he faced on the night before allowing two batters to reach in the second, though he would manage to escape the inning unscathed thanks to a double play ball. Unfortunately that luck would not continue as the right-hander went on to surrender runs in each of the next three frames while issuing a season-high four walks in the contest. Jones has now surrendered five or more runs in two of his last four starts and has issued multiple free passes in five straight. It also marked the second time in his last four outings that he was unable to make it through five innings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:32 am
  • Making fourth rehab start Sunday
Silseth (elbow) will make a rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: In the third start of his rehab assignment this past Tuesday, Silseth built up to 71 pitches, but he was blitzed for six earned runs on four hits and five walks while lasting just 2.2 innings for Salt Lake. Though Silseth appears to be fully stretched out for a traditional starting role at this point, the Angels will likely want to see him execute better at Triple-A before bringing him back in the rotation. If Silseth can keep the free passes in check Sunday, he could get the green light to return from the 60-day injured list for next weekend's Freeway Series against the Dodgers. • Picking up another start
Cannon is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Astros in Chicago, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After initially working out of the bullpen and recording a three-inning save following his call-up from Triple-A Charlotte on June 7, Cannon entered the rotation Wednesday and came through with a dazzling performance, striking out seven while limiting the Mariners to one run on four hits and one walk over seven innings. He'll stick around in the rotation on the heels of the stellar showing, and Cannon could get at least one more start beyond Tuesday with Mike Clevinger (elbow) unlikely to return from the injured list until the final week of June. Cannon will tentatively line up for a two-start week, with his second outing likely to come next Sunday in Detroit. Rotowire.com Today, 6:24 am
  • Narrowly misses quality start
Blach (3-4) picked up the win over the Pirates on Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Blach was effective early, striking out the first two batters he faced in the contest and going 1-2-3 through the first two frames. He would go on to surrender a solo homer to Nick Gonzales in the fourth and a second run in the sixth, but the lefty was able to hang out to earn his fourth win of the season and his first in the month of June. Blach has gone at least five innings in five straight outings, issuing multiple walks only one time over that stretch. However, he's also given up at least seven hits in three consecutive starts.
