• Angels acquire Luis Guillorme from Braves
Angels acquired INF Luis Guillorme from the Braves in exchange for a player to be named later.

Advice: The trade is now official, but still no word what the Braves are getting in return. The trade comes as the Angels transferred Anthony Rendon to the 60-day injured list, so it appears Guillorme will get some run at the hot corner for Los Angeles. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

  • Angels transfer Anthony Rendon to 60-day IL
Angels transferred Anthony Rendon (hamstring) to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: The 33-year-old veteran will miss an extended period of time after he suffered a hamstring injury a few weeks ago. The Angels are reportedly bringing in Luis Guillorme so it looks like he’ll take some reps at the hot corner as well as Miguel Sano, Luis Rengifo and Ehire Adrianza. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago

  • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Angels transferred Rendon (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the newly acquired Luis Guillorme. Rendon suffered a high-grade partial tear of his left hamstring nearly three weeks ago and now won't be eligible to return until June 21. A more concrete target date for Rendon's return probably won't be established for several more weeks. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago

  • On base four times in loss
Toro went 3-for-5 with an RBI single, a double, a walk and two runs during a loss to the Rangers in the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday.

Advice: Toro continued to wield one of the hottest bats in the majors during the nightcap, bouncing back from an 0-for-3 showing in the matinee of the twin bill with his seventh multi-hit effort in the last nine games. Toro's strikeout rate during that stretch is a minuscule 7.1 percent, and his slash line now sits at a season-best .293/.351/.447 across 134 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 7:10 am

  • Two more pilfers in loss
De La Cruz went 0-for-4 with two stolen bases in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: After reaching base on a fielder's choice in the fifth inning, De La Cruz promptly stole second and third base, but the Reds couldn't bring him home. The 22-year-old phenom is up to 21 steals on the season, tops in the majors by a healthy margin -- second place is a three-way at 14 between Ronald Acuna, Brice Turang and Jose Caballero. De La Cruz has gone 0-for-15 over the last four games, but he still sports a .254/.356/.516 slash line on the season with eight homers, 19 RBI and 27 runs in 36 contests. • Belts third homer in twin bill
Harris 2-for-6 with a solo home run, an RBI sacrifice fly, two walks and an additional run over both games of a doubleheader against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: The rookie uncorked his first homer since belting his first two big-league round trippers in only his second career game on Saturday versus the Marlins. Harris also continued to display some solid plate discipline for a rookie by drawing another pair of free passes, pushing his walk rate to a stellar 19.4 percent across his first 31 plate appearances. • Heading to bench Thursday
Newman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Newman will retreat to the bench after he started each of the past three games at shortstop while going 3-for-12 with a run scored. Blaze Alexander will spell Newman at shortstop in the series finale. Rotowire.com Today, 6:31 am

  • Swipes first bag
Smith went 1-for-5 with two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the A's.

Advice: After going 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter in a 9-4 loss during the matinee, Smith got the start at shortstop in the nightcap and swiped his first bag of the year in a wild 12-11 victory. The 26-year-old infielder has been productive of late, slashing .297/.422/.541 over the last 12 games with a homer, five RBI and nine runs, but his 6:14 BB:K during that stretch -- not to mention his .373 BABIP on the season -- suggests regression is coming for his batting average. Until Josh Jung (wrist) is back in the lineup though, Smith should continue to see regular playing time. Rotowire.com Today, 6:16 am

  • Dealt to Halos
The Angels acquired Guillorme from Atlanta on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: After joining Atlanta on a one-year, $1.1 million deal in January, Guillorme had seen limited action through the first month and a half of the season, logging just 21 plate appearances while seeing action in 10 of the team's 34 games. The infielder should be in store for more playing time with the Angels, who currently have three infielders on the injured list (Anthony Rendon, Miguel Sano and Michael Stefanic) and another two who are day-to-day (Brandon Drury and Luis Rengifo). A glove-first player with a career 93 wRC+ and just five home runs and four stolen bases over 345 MLB games, Guillorme won't make for an especially appealing fantasy option even if he falls into regular at-bats in Anaheim.
