    • Garcia hits RBI triple in win over Guardians
Maikel Garcia went 1-for-4 with a run scored, a triple, and an RBI against the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: Garcia tied the game at one with an RBI triple in the sixth inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. Those were the only runs the Royals scored on the night, but it was enough to squeak out a 2-1 victory. Garcia needs to have more of an impact if he’s going to retain his spot atop the Kansas City lineup for the rest of the season. He’s hitting .232 with a .629 OPS on the season. • Trea Turner reaches three times in losing effort
Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with three runs scored on Thursday in the Phillies’ loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Turner also drew a walk in this one, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances. The 30-year-old shortstop is batting .300 (12-for-40) with one homer and zero steals since returning from the injured list back on June 17. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm

    • Maikel Garcia goes 0-for-4 out of leadoff spot
Maikel Garcia went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Wednesday in the Royals’ win over the Marlins.

Advice: Yikes. Garcia’s latest hitless effort leaves him with a .174 (21-for-121) batting average with zero homers and six steals over his last 30 games. It’s fair to wonder how much longer Kansas City can afford to stick with him anywhere near the top of their lineup moving forward. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:24 pm

    • Takes batting practice Wednesday
Bogaerts (shoulder) took batting practice on the field Wednesday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Padres haven't divulged a potential timeline for Bogaerts' return from the 10-day injured list, but his ability to take on-field BP for the first time since suffering a fracture in his left shoulder in late May represents a major milestone in the recovery process. A clearer target date for Bogaerts' return could come into focus in the next few weeks once he resumes running and taking reps in the infield. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:22 am

    • Nabs two bags in loss
Garcia went 0-for-2 with two steals, two walks and one run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Garcia drew a second consecutive start at the keystone and stole two bases in the first inning after leading off with a walk. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily in June, as he entered the contest slashing .145/.211/.169 with no homers and four steals across 90 plate appearances. The Kansas City infield became more crowded with CJ Alexander debuting and Michael Massey (back) returning from the injured list Monday (though Massey will serve as DH for now), so Garcia will have to start producing at the plate and on the basepaths to maintain a starting role. • Back from IL, as expected
The Blue Jays activated Bichette (calf) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bichette will skip a rehab assignment and rejoin the floundering Blue Jays following a minimum 10-day stay on the IL. He'll bat leadoff Tuesday against the Red Sox. Isiah Kiner-Falefa had been handling shortstop while Bichette was on the shelf but now will slide back to third base. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:30 pm

    • Blue Jays activate Bo Bichette for Tuesday return
Blue Jays activated SS Bo Bichette from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: As expected, Bichette is ready to go after missing the minimum amount of time while dealing with his calf strain. He’ll go back to his role as the everyday shortstop, and has been bumped up to the leadoff spot for Tuesday’s showdown against the sizzling-hot Red Sox at Fenway Park. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:29 pm

    • Remains on track to return Tuesday
Bichette (calf) went through a full workout Monday and remains on track for activation from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Tuesday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Bichette's placement on the IL earlier this month with a right calf strain seemed to be precautionary more than anything else and he's slated for a minimum absence. He will resume everyday shortstop duties upon activation, pushing Isiah Kiner-Falefa back to third base. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:31 pm

    • Bo Bichette (calf) still on track for Tuesday
The Blue Jays are still expecting to activate Bo Bichette on Tuesday after another on-field workout Monday.

Advice: Bichette is on the IL with a strained right calf. The Blue Jays figure to send down Addison Barger or Steward Berroa to make room for him. Rotoworld Monday, 2:26 pm
