• Picks up first steal
Herrera went 0-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Herrera is in a bit of a slump, having gone 1-for-12 with four walks and four strikeouts over his last five games. The catcher's steal Sunday was the first of his career. He's added a .262/.336/.355 slash line with three home runs, 15 RBI and 14 runs scored over 122 plate appearances this season. Herrera continues to occupy a starting role behind the dish with Pedro Pages as backup while Willson Contreras (forearm) is likely out until mid-July. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:22 am

  • Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A
Marchan (back) was activated from the injured list and optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Advice: Marchan will effectively continue his rehab assignment with Lehigh Valley with no pressing need for a third catcher at the big-league level. The 25-year-old backstop has not appeared in the majors since 2021, but he could get a look later in the season if there is an injury behind the plate in Philadelphia. • Braves active Sean Murphy for Monday return
Braves activated C Sean Murphy from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: It’s been a long wait, but Murphy is back. The veteran catcher played just one game for the Braves this season before injuring his oblique. He’s been hitting the ball well on his rehab assignment and throwing out baserunners, which shows his readiness to step back behind the dish. With Travis d’Arnaud playing well while Murphy was out, it’s likely that the Braves use a timeshare at catcher for the next few weeks, so fantasy managers who have d’Arnaud can maybe hold on a bit longer. That’s especially true given the injury to Ronald Acuna Jr. could mean Marcell Ozuna plays some outfield and d’Arnaud or Murphy could DH on occasion. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:13 am

  • Activated from injured list
Atlanta activated Murphy (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Murphy missed more than eight weeks with a Grade 1 left oblique strain but is finally ready to rejoin Atlanta's lineup. He looked sharp during a four-game rehab stint with Triple-A Gwinnett, batting .278 with two home runs. Murphy will probably be eased back into primary catcher duties for Atlanta, as the club is keeping Chadwick Tromp around as a third catcher behind Murphy and Travis d'Arnaud for the time being. He is starting Monday's game, batting fifth against Mitchell Parker and the Nationals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:28 am

  • Breaks open game with homer
Rutschman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Rutschman inserted himself into a pitching duel between Kyle Bradish and Garrett Crochet, taking the latter deep in the sixth inning. This was Rutschman's first homer since May 15, and he went an uncharacteristically poor 6-for-30 (.200) over his eight contests in between long balls. The catcher is up to a .300/.338/.483 slash line with 10 homers, 35 RBI, 28 runs scored, seven doubles and one stolen base over 49 games this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:55 pm

  • Adley Rutschman has crucial two-run HR in win
Adley Rutschman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a win over the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: Rutschman scored the first runs of the game in the top of the sixth inning when he took Garrett Crochet deep 400 feet at 103 mph off the bat. They were the only two runs the Orioles would wind up needing. The 26-year-old is now slashing .300/.338/.483 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI on the season. If you drafted him, you’re certainly happy. • Not starting Sunday
Campusano is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Yankees.

Advice: Campusano will rest Sunday after starting in the first two games of the series, going 0-for-5 with two walks. Kyle Higashioka will start behind the plate and bat ninth against Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:50 pm

  • Joey Bart leaves vs. ATL with left thumb injury
Joey Bart left Sunday’s game against Atlanta with a left thumb injury.

Advice: The Pirates announced that Bart is undergoing further medical evaluation. The team will announce further updates when available. Bart has performed well this year, and this would be a significant loss for the Pittsburgh lineup. Rotoworld Sunday, 11:34 am

  • Leaves game with left thumb injury
Bart left Sunday's game against Atlanta due to a left thumb injury, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bart was pulled before the start of the second inning Sunday, with Yasmani Grandal taking over behind the plate. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but Bart is being evaluated by medical staff, per Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Bart has gone 9-for-28 with one home run and four RBI in May.
