    • Drives in three
Candelario went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.

Advice: Candelario nearly missed a grand slam in the first inning and settled for a three-run double. This was just his second multi-RBI effort in 34 games this season. He's still battling a season-opening slump, but Candelario's bat has shown life of late. He's hit safely in four of the last five games, going 7-for-20 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI. Perhaps this recent five-game run will prompt a move up the batting order -- Candelario opened as the team's cleanup hitter but has since moved to the lower-third. The Reds are last in MLB with a .556 OPS out of the cleanup spot. Rotowire.com Today, 5:59 am
    • Jeimer Candelario delivers three-run double
Jeimer Candelario just missed a grand slam on Sunday, settling for a three-run double against the Giants.

Advice: Candelario delivered the blast that left Jung Hoo Lee with an injured shoulder after he crashed into the wall. Statcast said it would have been a homer in 18 ballparks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:56 pm
    • Homer, double in win
Freeman went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run while also drawing a walk in Saturday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Freeman kicked things off for the Dodgers with a solo shot off Matt Waldron in the top of the first, giving the first baseman his fourth home run of the season. The veteran infielder would reach three times on the night after also doubling and drawing a walk, raising his average to .333 in the month of May. Freeman has now hit safely in five straight games and in 17 of his last 19 contests overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:56 am
    • Hits game-tying blast
Santander went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Santander's eighth-inning blast was what ultimately forced extra innings Saturday. The outfielder has gone deep three times and driven in seven runs over his last five games. For the season, Santander is sporting a .217/.301/.449 slash line with seven long balls, 25 RBI, 20 runs scored, nine doubles and a triple. He still has yet to attempt a stolen base this season. Santander's production is generally in line with what he did last year, aside from modest dips in his rate stats. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:55 pm

    • Luis Arraez hits walk-off single against Dodgers
Luis Arraez hit a walk-off RBI single to give the Padres a 2-1 win over the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: With the score tied 1-1, Arraez picked up his first game-winning hit as a member of the Padres with a single to score Tyler Wade off Michael Grove. The 27-year-old has just seven RBI in his time with the Marlins and San Diego, but he should have more chances to drive in runs — even at the top of the lineup — now that he’s not playing for one of the worst teams in baseball. • Jeimer Candelario swats solo homer in loss
Jeimer Candelario hit a solo homer Thursday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Candelario got the Reds on the board with a solo blast off Slade Cecconi in the fifth inning. The 30-year-old has driven in just 12 runs over 36 games in 2024, and the homer is the fourth of the year. Better things should be ahead for Candelario in the coming months, if not sooner. • Lifts homer in win
Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

Advice: Santander is hitting just .227 over seven games in May and batting .215 on the year, but he has a homer in two of his last three contests. The outfielder has added a .737 OPS through 35 games this season, though that's still a decent margin behind last year's .797 mark. Santander is up to six homers, 24 RBI, 18 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple and no steals through 147 plate appearances while holding down a starting role in right field. • Fills in at first base
Candelario started at first base and went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Arizona.

Advice: Candelario moved across the diamond from third base to cover first for Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand), who is expected to miss four-to-six weeks. Candelario is one of several Cincinnati bats off to a slow start; the three-hit night raised his season average to .206, just the second day it's been above .200. Santiago Espinal took over for Candelario at third base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:44 pm
    • Luis Arraez scores two runs in win over Cubs
Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored on Wednesday, leading the Padres to a 3-0 victory over the Cubs.

Advice: Arraez wound up reaching base safely in two of his four plate appearances, crossing the plate in the first and fifth innings, respectively, on run-scoring hits from teammates Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth. The 27-year-old batting title contender has a pair of multi-hit performances in five contests since arriving last week in San Diego. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:17 pm
