    • Can't overcome rough first inning
Miller (3-4) took the loss Friday against the Orioles, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out one.

Advice: All of the damage against Miller came in the first inning, when the Orioles put up five runs before the right-hander could record an out. Miller would settle in and blank Baltimore over his final 4.1 frames, allowing just two more hits, though the Mariners couldn't climb out of the early hole in an eventual 9-2 defeat. The 24-year-old Miller has been solid this year overall, holding opponents to two runs or fewer in six of his nine starts. He sports a 3.08 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP and 52:16 K:BB across 52.2 innings this season. Miller is currently lined up for a tough road matchup with the Yankees in his next outing. • Jesús Luzardo strikes out seven, earns win
Jesús Luzardo completed six innings in the Marlins 8-0 win over the Mets on Friday. He struck out seven, walked none, and allowed seven hits.

Advice: Luzardo has been fantastic since returning from the IL, striking out 15 in 11 ⅔ innings across two starts putting a rough start to the season behind him. However, be advised his fastball averaged just 94.7 MPH Friday. That was his lowest mark in a single start this season and after he’s already spent time on the shelf with elbow tightness. • Improves to 2-0
Means (2-0) earned the win Friday over the Mariners, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Means got off to a rocky start, allowing a run on three hits in the first inning. However, he'd settle down and hold Seattle to just one additional run over his final five frames in an eventual 9-2 Orioles win. It was a nice bounce-back effort from Means, after he gave up four runs in just 4.2 innings against Arizona in his last start. The 31-year-old southpaw lowered his ERA to 3.06 with a 0.85 WHIP and 15 strikeouts while still not issuing a walk over 17.2 innings. Means is currently lined up for a road matchup with the Cardinals in his next outing. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Nick Fortes goes 3-for-3, homers in win
Nick Fortes went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and three runs scored against the Mets on Friday.

Advice: The home run was just Fortes’ second in what’s been a disastrous start to the season. He’s had some intriguing batted ball metrics in the past, but this was just his second barrel of the season. He’s hard to trust even in two-catcher formats. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Christian Scott touched up against Marlins
Christian Scott allowed four earned runs across four innings on Friday in a loss against the Marlins. He struck out three, walked one, and allowed seven hits.

Advice: The Marlins jumped all over Scott for a four-run second inning with the big blow being a three-run home run from Nick Fortes. Scott is a strike-thrower which is one of his greatest qualities, but also caused his undoing in this one. He’s lined up to face the Giants next Friday as the Mets move into a six-man rotation. • Gunnar Henderson powers Orioles past Mariners
Gunnar Henderson crushed a leadoff homer, tripled and drove in a pair of runs on Friday night, powering the Orioles to a lopsided 9-2 victory over the visiting Mariners.

Advice: Henderson got the home half of the first inning started with a bang, clobbering the second pitch thrown by Bryce Miller for a 402-foot (101.3 mph EV) solo shot — his league-leading 13th of the season. The 22-year-old superstar also drove in Jorge Mateo with a run-scoring triple in the seventh inning, then scored on an RBI double off the bat of Adley Rutschman. With his two-hit attack, Henderson is now slashing .263/.339/.569 with 13 homers, 29 RBI and six stolen bases. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

    • Colton Cowser drives in two as Orioles crush M’s
Colton Cowser singled, doubled, walked and drove in a pair of runs on Friday night as the Orioles crushed the Mariners.

Advice: Cowser clubbed a two-run double off of Bryce Miller in the first inning, extending the Orioles’ early advantage to 4-0. With his two-hit attack, the 24-year-old outfielder is now hitting .263/.348/.509 with six homers, 22 RBI and three stolen bases over 40 games on the season. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

    • Adley Rutschman scores twice in rout of Mariners
Adley Rutschman went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and a pair of runs scored as the Orioles routed the Mariners on Friday evening at Camden Yards.

Advice: Rutschman singled and scored during the Orioles’ five-run uprising off of Bryce Miller in the first inning. The 26-year-old backstop then plated Gunnar Henderson with an RBI double off of Kirby Snead in the seventh inning and raced around to score on an RBI double off the bat of Austin Hays. He continues to perform as one of the top offensive catchers in the game — slashing .318/.353/.514 with nine homers, 28 RBI and one stolen base. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

    • John Means strikes out four in win over Mariners
John Means logged a quality start in Friday evening’s victory over the Mariners, surrendering just two runs on six hits across six frames.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw punched out four batters on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He allowed an RBI single to Mitch Garver in the first inning, then served up a solo blast to Dylan Moore in the fifth, but that was the extent of the damage done against him in this one. Means got 11 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night — eight of those on his changeup — while registering a CSW of 32 percent. Through his first three starts, he now sits at 2-0 with a 3.06 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and a 15/0 K/BB ratio over 17 2/3 innings. He’ll look to extend that dominance when he takes on the Cardinals in St. Louis on Wednesday. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago
