      Advice: Hader stepped into the game for the ninth inning despite not being eligible for the save and gave up his first home run since June 9 to Michael Toglia. After a shaky start to 2024, Hader owns a 2.25 ERA with 30 strikeouts and eight saves over his last 19 appearances. He's also walking batters at his lowest clip since 2019, with 2.4 BB/9 in 2024.       Gore (6-7) allowed five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one over five innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Padres.

      Advice: Gore struggled against the team that drafted him, as the Padres put up multiple runs in the first and fifth innings. He may have been rattled by the two teams clearing the benches in the first inning after Keibert Ruiz and Jurickson Profar exchanged words -- Gore's next pitch hit Profar on the back foot, and the one after that was crushed by Manny Machado for a two-run homer. The southpaw has lost three of his five starts in June, giving up 18 runs (17 earned) over 26.1 innings. He's now at a 3.81 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 99:28 K:BB through 85 innings across 16 starts on the year. Gore is projected to make his next start at home versus the Mets.       MacKenzie Gore surrendered five runs in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Gore was lucky not to be tossed at the beginning of this one, as he hit Jurickson Profar in the back leg with a pitch right after warnings were issued because of some thoroughly unnecessary jawing and a benches-clearing incident. Gore’s pitch, though, didn’t seem to be intentional. It did lead to an ejection anyway, as Padres manager Mike Shildt was ejected for taking issue with Gore not being tossed.       Phillips earned the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox, pitching a perfect inning with one strikeout.

      Advice: Phillips entered the ninth with a one-run lead and promptly retired the side on 14 pitches, including 10 strikes. The 29-year-old right-hander has been steady in June so far, pitching to a 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB over nine innings with five saves.       Advice: Scott worked around a single yielded to Salvador Perez and subsequent pinch-run stolen base by Dairon Blanco to secure double-digit saves for the third consecutive season. The left-handed closer has been especially stingy since May 1, producing a 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across 21.1 innings.       Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Royals.

      Advice: Scott allowed a one-out single to Salvador Perez in the ninth but went on to retire the next two batters he faced. The veteran lefty now has 10 saves on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.59 on the season.       Phillips earned a hold against the White Sox on Monday, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning of work.

      Advice: It was somewhat surprising to see Phillips -- who is the Dodgers' primary closer -- used in the eighth frame, but there was plenty of sense behind the move given that the White Sox were bringing up the heart of their order. Phillips got through the inning unscathed despite allowing a one-out double to Luis Robert, and Alex Vesia earned his fourth save with a clean frame in the ninth. Phillips' usage Monday suggests that manager Dave Roberts isn't opposed to using him before the ninth inning in the highest-leverage situations, but the right-hander should still receive the vast majority of save chances for Los Angeles. He's been one of the most reliable closers in baseball this year with a perfect 12-for-12 mark in save opportunities along with a 1.66 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:50 pm

      Bassitt allowed two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out two during the loss to Boston.

      Advice: Aside from Rafael Devers' two-run shot in the fourth inning, Bassitt had little trouble during the quality start. Bassitt was in line for the win before Toronto's bullpen was tagged with five runs. After producing a 5.03 over his first nine starts, he owns a strong 1.67 ERA over his last seven outings.       Bibee (6-2) picked up the win Monday against Baltimore, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings.

      Advice: Bibee allowed an RBI single to Ryan O'Hearn in the opening frame, but he quickly found his groove and limited an explosive Orioles offense to just one earned run. The 25-year-old is one of the hottest pitchers in baseball right now, notching seven or more strikeouts for the fifth consecutive start. During that span, Bibee has pitched to a 2.51 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP and a sparkling 44:5 K:BB over 28.2 innings.
