      Advice: This was the second game in a row Soler's hit leadoff, though the Giants may try any number of players there to replace Jung Hoo Lee (shoulder). Soler has gone 4-for-9 with a walk over two games since he came off the injured list. The 32-year-old is slashing .219/.308/.383 with five home runs, 10 RBI, 16 runs scored and six doubles over 146 plate appearances.       Harper went 1-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-3 extra-inning win against Washington.

      Advice: Harper singled, stole a base and came home on a double-play groundout in the fourth inning for Philadelphia's first run. He was retired his next two times at the plate before driving home the winning run with a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th frame.     • Fires second straight quality start
      Gore allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Saturday.

      Advice: Gore carried a one-run lead into the seventh inning but was pulled after Bryson Stott tagged him for a one-out, game-tying solo homer. Despite that disappointing exit, this was a positive overall outing for the lefty hurler, and he's now fired back-to-back quality starts for the first time this season. Gore didn't have the strikeout stuff Saturday that he had his previous time out, when he fanned nine Red Sox batters over six frames, but Gore did established a season-high mark with his 6.1 frames.     • Gore strikes out three in no-decision
      MacKenzie Gore allowed two earned runs and struck out three in 6 1/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Phillies on Saturday.



      Advice: Gore hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in a start all season, but he only has two wins to show for it. He lowered his ERA to 3.30 with this outing. The 25-year-old left-hander gets a better matchup in his next game as he’s scheduled to face the Mariners at home next weekend.

      Imanaga came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Pirates, scattering four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: The 30-year-old lefty was locked in a pitcher's duel with Bailey Falter, preventing either starter from getting a decision, but Imanaga still impressed. He generated 22 swinging strikes among his 88 pitches, and he now sports a 0.84 ERA -- the lowest mark in history through a pitcher's first nine career MLB starts. Imanaga will also take a 0.91 WHIP and 58:9 K:BB through 53.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in St. Louis. Rotowire.com Today, 6:08 pm
       
    • Melts down in Miami
      Diaz allowed four runs on four hits while recording just one out in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.

      Advice: The Mets handed the ball to Diaz with a four-run advantage in the bottom of the ninth inning. He permitted a leadoff double and watched that run come around on a one-out single. Another single put two runners on and Josh Bell cashed them and himself in when he sent a ball 428 feet to center field for a three-run homer. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza pulled Diaz at that point. While this didn't officially go down as a blown save, it continued an ugly stretch for Diaz, who has allowed 10 runs over his last eight appearances covering 8.1 frames. When asked after the game about a potential change at closer, Mendoza didn't dismiss it, per Mike Puma of the New York Post. Diaz himself even said he'd be open to working in low-leverage spots for a while as he tries to get back on track.       Edwin Diaz allowed four runs and only recorded one out against the Marlins on Saturday.



      Advice: Diaz entered the game with a four-run lead so it wasn’t technically a save situation, but he once again couldn’t hold the lead for the Mets. It’s his third straight appearance with a blown lead. Diaz allowed an RBI single to Jazz Chisholm and a game-tying three run home run to Josh Bell. His ERA is now 5.50 on the season. Diaz has been an elite closer in the past, but we’re at the point where he might need to be removed from the closer role temporarily.

    • Shota Imanaga goes seven scoreless vs. Pirates
      Shota Imanaga tossed seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision against the Pirates on Saturday.

      Advice: Imanaga was outstanding once again, scattering four hits and one walk across seven scoreless innings. He did not allow a runner to reach scoring position until the seventh inning. The Pirates would put two runners on with a pair of base hits, but Imanaga would get out of trouble with a strikeout, one of seven on the day. He was saddled with a no-decision as the Cubs were also shut down by Bailey Falter. The 30-year-old left-hander has been perhaps the best starter in baseball so far, posting a 0.84 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 58/9 K/BB ratio across 53 2/3 innings.
