    • Goes deep in win
Vaughn went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Friday's win over Boston.

Advice: Vaughn singled and scored in the fourth inning before knocking a solo blast in the sixth. After a 36-game homerless drought to begin the year, he's gone deep six times over his last 22 appearances, including two straight games. During that span, he's boosted his season OPS from .507 to .633 through 237 total plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:53 pm

    • Smacks homer in loss
Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 14-2 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Vaughn has hit safely in his last six games, going 8-for-23 (.348) in that span. He dealt with a sprained left ring finger to begin June, but it hasn't slowed him down since he was cleared to return. The first baseman is up to five homers on the year with 20 RBI, 17 runs scored, one stolen base and a .211/.275/.338 slash line through 233 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:36 pm

    • Aims for return around July 1
Casas (ribs) said Wednesday in an interview with NESN that he should be cleared to swing a bat before the end of the week.

Advice: Casas noted earlier this week that he's still experiencing some discomfort in his ribs when he rotates, but the 24-year-old expects to progress enough in the coming days to try swinging a bat. The first baseman still has several hurdles to clear in the recovery process before being ready for game action, but he said in his interview that he's hoping to be activated from the 60-day injured list "right around July 1." • Triston Casas hoping to return around July 1
Triston Casas thinks he could return from his oblique strain right around July 1.

Advice: Casas has yet to resume swinging, but that could happen within the next few days. Obviously, that’ll be the real test before any sort of official timetable comes down. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:10 pm

    • Slugs 14th homer
Alonso went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Nationals.

Advice: The first baseman took Washington closer Kyle Finnegan deep to left field in the ninth inning to give the Mets an insurance run. Alonso's racked up seven hits, including three doubles and two homers, over the last six games, and since May 7 he's slashing .279/.330/.548 in 26 contests with six of his 14 long balls and 15 of his 31 RBI on the season. • Still not swinging bat
Casas (ribs) still experiences pain when rotating and has not yet begun swinging a bat, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Casas has been taking grounders and hitting the weight room, but that he's not yet swinging a bat suggests he may not return June 21, the earliest he can be activated off the 60-day injured list. "Whenever he feels better about it and he doesn't feel pain, then [swinging] is the next step," manager Alex Cora said. "It's not about treatment or whatever. It just kind of had to heal on its own." While Casas has been sidelined, the Red Sox are getting by with Dominic Smith and Garrett Cooper at first base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:05 am

    • Pete Alonso hits 446-foot homer versus Nationals
Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 with a long home run Tuesday against the Nationals.

Advice: The homer off Kyle Finnegan was drilled 446 feet to left field. It’s the longest of Alonso’s 14 homers so far this season. He’s gone 7-for-23 with two homers and three doubles since May 30. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:40 pm

    • Back in action
Vaughn (finger) will start at first base and bat second in Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Vaughn sprained his left ring finger over the weekend and missed the entirety of the White Sox's three-game series with the Brewers. However, after a team day off Monday, Vaughn will return to the White Sox lineup in time for the start of its series with the North Siders. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:08 pm

    • Andrew Vaughn back in lineup Tuesday vs. Cubs
Andrew Vaughn (finger) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Cubs.

Advice: Vaughn is back at first base on Tuesday night after missing three straight games due to left finger sprain. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:02 pm
