  • Removed with blister
    Bido was removed from his start Wednesday due to a blister on his right middle finger, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

  • Pete Fairbanks will make another rehab appearance
    Rays’ manager Kevin Cash told reporters on Wednesday that Pete Fairbanks will make another minor league rehab appearance at Triple-A Durham on Thursday.

    Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander allowed two hits and struck out a batter over a scoreless inning of work in his first appearance.     Osvaldo Bido was removed from Wednesday’s start against the Rangers in the third inning due to a blister issue on his pitching hand.

    Advice: The right-hander had allowed one run on three hits and a pair of walks over his 2 2/3 innings of work — but also left the bases loaded and will be responsible if those runners score as well. It’s likely that he would be heading back to Triple-A Las Vegas after Wednesday’s start anyways, but what remains unclear is whether or not he’ll require a trip to the injured list.   • Starting rehab stint
    Astros manager Joe Espada said Wednesday that Urquidy (forearm) is likely to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land this weekend, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

    Advice: The right-hander threw live batting practice Tuesday and has now been cleared to pitch in minor-league games.     José Urquidy (forearm) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land over the weekend.

    Advice: Urquidy has been shelved since spring training due to inflammation in his forearm, so he’s going to need at least a couple of rehab starts before he’s an option to join the Astros’ rotation.     Advice: Stewart was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with right shoulder tendinitis, and fortunately for him, the injury doesn't look to be any more significant than that. If Stewart is able to resume playing catch this weekend, he would have an outside chance at returning from the IL when first eligible May 17.     Red Sox activated RHP Nick Pivetta from the 15-day injured list.

    Advice: As anticipated, the 31-year-old hurler will rejoin the Red Sox’ rotation on Wednesday night against the Braves. Prior to landing on the injured list, Pivetta had posted a 1-1 record, 0.82 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and a 13/1 K/BB ratio over 11 innings through his first two starts. Given the fact that he threw just 62 pitches in his last rehab start — and the tough matchup against the Braves — fantasy managers may want to wait and see on this one before re-inserting him into lineups.     Michael Lorenzen was lit up for six runs over six innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Athletics.

    Advice: Lorenzen took the ball for the opening contest of Wednesday’s twin bill at Oakland Coliseum and turned in an absolute clunker. He was tagged for nine hits, including homers from Shea Langeliers and Brett Harris, before his calamitous outing came to a close. He finished with six strikeouts and only handed out a pair of free passes.
