    • Hunter Brown allows four in win over Brewers
Hunter Brown gave up four runs in five innings but still picked up the win Friday against the Brewers.

Advice: Brown allows four hits — two of them homers, including a three-run homer by Joey Ortiz — and he walked three while striking out five. It’s another mediocre start from the right-hander, and mediocre seems to be pretty kind at this stage. It’s never a good sign when five innings of four-run baseball sees your ERA drop to 7.71. That being said, it was good enough for the win Friday, and it’s the first of the season for Brown. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

    • Chris Bassitt allows three earned runs in loss
Chris Bassitt pitched 5 ⅔ innings and allowed three earned runs on Friday in a loss to the Rays. He struck out five and walked three.

Advice: Bassitt just can’t seem to get on track this season. He unraveled in the sixth inning, the third time through the Rays’ order, with Richie Palacios’ two-run homer chasing him. His 5.03 ERA has been a huge disappointment and his career-high 10 BB% doesn’t suggest better times are coming. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
    • Starting to find some power
Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Athletics.

Advice: Diaz has hit well for average this season, but he has struggled to find much power as he has just a .119 ISO. He's started to show more pop of late, tallying three of his eight doubles on the campaign in his last nine games. Despite the lack of extra-base knocks, Diaz has managed 16 runs scored and 21 RBI across 42 games and comfortably remains Houston's top option behind the dish. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am

    • Dominant in win
Javier (3-1) earned the win over the Athletics on Wednesday, pitching six shutout innings while allowing two hits and one walk. He struck out eight.

Advice: Javier came out firing Thursday, striking out five of the first eight batters he faced before finishing with a season-high eight punchouts on the night. The right-hander threw first-pitch strikes to only nine of the 21 batters he faced, but he also produced 15 whiffs as he cruised to his third win of the season. It was a nice return to form for Javier, who was shelled for seven runs in his first start after returning from the injured list a week ago. The quality start was his third of the campaign, while it also marked the second time this season he's allowed two or fewer hits in an outing. Rotowire.com Today, 4:08 am
    • Diaz knocks in three Thursday
Yainer Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, 3 RBI and a run scored against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a bases-clearing double in the third inning off Joey Estes and the route was on from there. He hit 23 home runs in 104 games last year, but his power is noticeably down this year. His .119 ISO is well below his .256 ISO from last year. Diaz doesn’t walk often, but has cut his strikeout percentage to 13 percent so far this year. He’s not going to fall off a cliff if that keeps up, but he’s not exactly delivering on his lofty preseason draft price so far either. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:10 pm

    • Javier picks up third win vs. A’s
Cristian Javier struck out eight in six shutout innings and picked up the win in the Astros’ 8-1 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Javier allowed only two hits and a walk. It was a good bounce back start for him after he had allowed seven runs against the Tigers in his last start. Javier lowered his ERA to 3.23 on the season. He’ll face the Angels at home in his next start. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:57 pm
    • Slugs 10th homer
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Garcia has homered in back-to-back games, giving him 10 long balls on the year. Prior to Tuesday, he had gone 19 games without a multi-hit effort, batting a meager .153 (11-for-72) in that span. That slump took the shine off his hot start to the campaign, but the outfielder is still slashing .259/.306/.494 with 34 RBI, 23 runs scored, four stolen bases and nine doubles over 44 contests this season. • Blanks Twins for six innings
Stroman (3-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Twins, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out two over six shutout innings.

Advice: This was Stroman's second scoreless start of the season, as well as his third quality start. He entered Wednesday with nine runs allowed over his previous 15 innings across a three-start winless skid. The right-hander trimmed his ERA to 3.33 with a 1.42 WHIP and 42:25 K:BB over 48.2 innings through nine starts this season. Stroman's 4.6 BB/9 remains a concern -- it's by far the worst of his career, though his 7.8 K/9 is in line with his career norms. Stroman is projected to make his next start at home versus the Mariners. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:25 pm

    • Marcus Stroman twirls six scoreless innings
Marcus Stroman held the Twins scoreless across six innings on Wednesday earning the win. He allowed two hits, walked three, and struck out two.

Advice: Stroman wasn’t particularly sharp in this one with just two strikeouts and three walks. The Twins also had 10 hard hit balls, seven of which were hit in the air, but they couldn’t sustain any type of rally. But that’s what happens when the Yankees play the Twins, with a 119-43 record in their last 162 games against Minnesota. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:22 pm
