    • Two thefts in loss
Neto went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Neto singled and then stole second and third in the seventh inning, but he wasn't brought home. The shortstop had gone 16 games without a stolen base, though he hit a respectable .264 (14-for-53) with seven extra-base hits in that span. For the season, Neto is slashing .254/.305/.413 with eight steals, six home runs, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and 12 doubles over 203 plate appearances in a starting role. • Produces team's lone run Wednesday
Kim went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to Miami on Wednesday.

Advice: Kim's third-inning solo shot was the only run San Diego managed against Braxton Garrett and four Marlins relievers. The long ball was Kim's seventh through 231 plate appearances this season, putting him on pace to surpass last year's career-best total of 17 homers. The shortstop has added 13 stolen bases but has otherwise struggled with a .214/.326/.367 slash line. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:47 am

    • Ha-Seong Kim goes deep in Padres’ loss to Marlins
Ha-Seong Kim belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Padres’ blowout loss to the Marlins.

Advice: There weren’t a whole lot of positives for San Diego in this one as Kim’s third-inning shot off Marlins starter Braxton Garrett represented their lone tally in a one-sided affair. The 28-year-old’s batting average remains stuck around the Mendoza line, but he’s got eight homers and 13 stolen bases through 58 games so far. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:41 pm

    • Ha-Seong Kim leads Padres past Yankees on Sunday
Ha-Seong Kim went 2-for-3 with a walk, run scored and an RBI on Sunday afternoon, leading the Padres to a 5-2 victory over the visiting Yankees.

Advice: Kim drove in the go-ahead run with a bunt single off of Victor Gonzalez in the seventh inning, then came around to score on an infield single off the bat of Fernando Tatis Jr. With his two-hit attack, the dynamic 28-year-old infielder is now hitting .216/.333/.362 with six homers, 23 RBI and 13 stolen bases on the season. • Back in lineup Saturday
Neto (elbow) will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Neto hurt his right elbow on a throw in Wednesday's game against the Astros, forcing his removal from that contest. He sat out Friday's game after the Angels' off day Thursday but is back in there for Saturday's tilt. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:01 pm

    • Zach Neto (elbow) cleared to return on Saturday
Angels’ manager Ron Washington told reporters that Zach Neto has been cleared to return to the Angels’ lineup.

Advice: The Angels have yet to announce their lineup for Saturday night’s tilt against the Guardians, but expect that the 23-year-old shortstop will be back in there after exiting Wednesday’s game with soreness in his right elbow. Neto has hit .249/.302/.420 with six homers, 18 RBI and six stolen bases in 49 games for the Halos this season. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:13 pm

    • No structural damage in elbow
Neto said Friday that MRI results on his right elbow showed inflammation, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Registerreports.

Advice: Neto had to exit Wednesday's game against Houston after feeling soreness in his elbow after a throw to first base, though it appears he managed to avoid a significant injury. He will attempt to test his elbow by throwing before Friday's game versus Cleveland, though he has already been left out of the Halos' starting lineup. Kyren Paris will get the nod at shortstop instead while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:59 pm

    • Zach Neto (elbow) remains out of Angels’ lineup
Zach Neto (elbow) remains out of the Angels’ starting lineup for Friday night’s skirmish against the Guardians.

Advice: The 23-year-old shortstop was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Astros due to soreness in his right elbow. The good news is that Neto is still on the lineup card and hasn’t been placed on the injured list — at least as of yet. Kyren Paris will start in his place at shortstop and will bat ninth for the Halos against Guardians’ left-hander Logan Allen. Rotoworld Friday, 2:34 pm

    • Swipes two bags
Kim went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two stolen bases in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Advice: Kim seemingly has a green light to run right now -- he's logged five steals over his last five games, going 5-for-15 with five walks in that span. The shortstop is up to 13 thefts on 14 attempts this season, putting him roughly on pace to match his total of 38 steals in 2023. Kim has a .216/.335/.369 slash line with six home runs, 22 RBI, 25 runs scored, four doubles and two triples over 52 games, but his recent hitting suggests he may be turning things around. Kim still figures to hit in the bottom half of the order most of the time. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:47 pm
