    • Christopher Morel exits with injury on Wednesday
Christopher Morel was removed from Wednesday’s battle against the White Sox in the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off of his left foot in the seventh inning.

Advice: The 24-year-old finished the plate appearance where he worked a walk but was ultimately lifted for a pinch-runner. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any potential fractures in his foot and the Cubs should have an update on his status after the conclusion of Wednesday’s ballgame. • Gleyber Torres plates two as Yankees defeat Twins
Gleyber Torres smacked a two-run double on Wednesday as the Yankees triumphed over the Twins.

Advice: Torres capped off a four-run uprising off of Chris Paddack in the opening inning with his two-run double that plated Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the evening. For the season, the 27-year-old infielder is slashing .231/.307/.341 with just five homers, 19 RBI and four stolen bases through his first 63 games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:46 pm
    • Jorge Polanco won’t return when eligible
Jorge Polanco (hamstring) will not return from the injured list when first eligible on Thursday.

Advice: The 30-year-old second baseman has been making progress in his recovery from a mild right hamstring strain, but he’s not close to a return just yet. He has been participating in infield drills and has been taking batting practice, but it sounds like he may ultimately need a game or two on a minor league rehab assignment before he’s ready to rejoin the M’s lineup. • Braxton Garrett pummeled in loss to Rays
Braxton Garrett was pummeled in Wednesday’s loss to the Rays, giving up five runs on six hits across his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw punched out three batters on the night while issuing one free pass. The Rays jumped on him for three runs in the opening inning on RBI doubles by Isaac Paredes and Josh Lowe. They then pushed across another pair while chasing Garrett in the third inning. He got nine swings and misses on just 53 pitches in the ballgame — five on his slider — while posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll attempt to improve upon his uninspiring 5.81 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 24/4 K/BB ratio (26 1/3 innings) when he takes on the Mets in New York on Wednesday. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:03 pm

    • Aaron Nola fires seven scoreless to beat Brewers
Aaron Nola fired seven shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Nola scattered a pair of hits and recorded five strikeouts on Wednesday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park, combining with relievers Jeff Hoffman and José Alvarado on a three-hit shutout. The 31-year-old righty has been a model of consistency over the last few weeks, allowing two earned runs or fewer in five consecutive starts since May 14. He’ll carry a strong 2.77 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 76/22 K/BB ratio across 84 1/3 innings (13 starts) into a road tilt next Thursday against the Red Sox at historic Fenway Park. • Francisco Lindor leaves the yard in rout of Nats
Francisco Lindor went 2-for-5 with a homer and a pair of runs scored on Wednesday as the Mets routed the Nationals in Washington.

Advice: The dynamic 30-year-old shortstop went back-to-back with Luis Torrens off of Patrick Corbin in the sixth inning, with his 428-foot (109.3 mph EV) bomb increasing the Mets’ lead to 4-0. He also led off the seventh inning with a single and scored as J.D. Martinez bounced into a double play. With his two-hit attack, Lindor is now hitting .235/.302/.410 to go along with 10 long balls, 31 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:38 pm
    • Blanks Brew Crew for eighth win
Nola (8-2) picked up the win Wednesday, scattering two hits over seven scoreless innings in a 2-0 victory over the Brewers. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Advice: The veteran right-hander was dominant as he delivered his fourth straight quality start and eighth of the season, firing 68 of 93 pitches for strikes. Nola will take a 2.77 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 76:22 K:BB through 84.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week in Boston. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:27 pm

    • First to 20 saves
Helsley earned the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Astros, recording a pair of strikeouts in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Helsley's now delivered back-to-back scoreless innings, striking out four in that span, after allowing four runs in his previous three appearances. The 29-year-old Helsley is now the first in the majors to reach to 20-save mark. His ERA is down to 2.33 with a 1.07 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB across 27 innings this season. • Ryan Helsley nets 20th save Wednesday vs. Astros
Ryan Helsley struck out two in a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Astros to record his major league-leading 20th save of the season.

Advice: There haven’t been a ton of save opportunities recently for Helsley in recent weeks, with just five chances over the last two weeks. However, he’s converted 20 of his 21 save opportunities this season to accompany a sparkling 2.33 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 29/6 K/BB ratio across 27 innings (27 appearances). He got the call to protect a two-run margin in this one and needed just eight pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:31 pm
