• Recalled, batting leadoff Friday
The Marlins recalled Edwards from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Advice: Miami is in need of infield help with both Tim Anderson (bereavement) and Otto Lopez (paternity) away from the club for a few days. Edwards is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff in Friday's game against the Guardians. The 24-year-old got a late start to this season due to a bacterial infection in his left foot, but he's slashed .365/.411/.481 with three stolen bases in 17 games with Jacksonville. He's not guaranteed regular playing time, but if he gets it Edwards could deserve some attention in deeper fantasy leagues due to his stolen base potential. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago
  • Joining Marlins
Gray was called up by the Marlins from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Advice: With Tim Anderson being placed on the Bereavement List and Otto Lopez going on the Paternity List, Gray will jump up to the Marlins 26-man roster. Gray briefly joined the team in May while Anderson was on the IL but only made one start, which came at third base. Considering he primarily plays on the corners, Gray should be expected to fill out a depth role during his time in Miami. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

  • Getting second start
Poteet is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Dodgers at Yankee Stadium.

Advice: The right-hander will be making his third start of the season for the Yankees and his second straight turn through the rotation after he struck out six over five innings while allowing three runs (two earned) in a winning effort against the Giants last Saturday following his call-up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Unless the Yankees lose one of their other four current healthy starters due to an injury, Poteet's stay in the big-league rotation will likely come to an end once Gerrit Cole (elbow) makes his expected return from the 60-day injured list later this month. • On Bereavement List
Anderson was placed on the Bereavement List Friday.

Advice: Anderson will be away from the team as he tends to personal matters. While he's absent, Vidal Brujan and recently called-up Xavier Edwards should handle most of the work at shortstop. Anderson is slashing just .188/.221/.206 in 172 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago

  • Early exit not related to Soto
Dominguez's (elbow) exit in the eighth inning of Thursday's rehab game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre was not related to the injury to Juan Soto (forearm), Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Dominguez's removal was planned, as he has yet to play a full game on his rehab assignment as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. Of course, it's still possible Dominguez could be a potential roster replacement for Soto should the latter need to miss some time. Soto is set to undergo imaging on his left forearm Friday, and the results of that will dictate how the Yankees proceed. Dominguez is slashing .339/.397/.581 with four home runs over 68 plate appearances covering 17 rehab contests. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

  • Pulled off rehab assignment
Williamson has been pulled off his rehab assignment due to continued issues with his left shoulder, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Williamson threw four shutout innings, allowed just one hit and showed good velocity in his last rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. However, there's evidently renewed concern for left shoulder strain which has kept him sidelined all season. Consider him out indefinitely. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago

  • Continuing rehab at Triple-A
Dominguez's (elbow) rehab assignment was extended an additional 10 days and will continue at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the Yankees announced Tuesday.

Advice: Dominguez will make another step in his recovery from Tommy John surgery he underwent last September, bumping his rehab assignment up to the Triple-A level. He's already appeared in 14 minor-league games split across Double-A Somerset and Single-A Tampa, and Dominguez will likely require a handful more at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before being activated. Even when cleared, Dominguez will have a tough time cracking New York's active roster considering its abundance of outfield talent. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:30 am

  • Dominguez (elbow) moves rehab to Triple-A
The Yankees extended Jasson Dominguez’s rehab assignment by 10 days and transferred it to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Dominguez registered a .992 OPS with Double-A Somerset with four homers over 14 games. The 21-year-old outfielder is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, and now will be a step away from the majors. The questions now are when Dominguez will reach the highest level, and what exactly New York plans to do to get him in the lineup. The latter question will likely be answered by either an injury or Dominguez continuing to tear the cover off the baseball. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:27 am

  • Recalled from Triple-A
The Pirates recalled Peguero from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Peguero was a somewhat surprising exclusion from the Pirates' Opening Day roster and wound up spending a couple months at Indianapolis before getting another shot with the big club. He's slashed .272/.341/.387 this year with Indianapolis, hitting two home runs and stealing five bases. Peguero will back up at both middle infield spots. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:44 am
