      Friedl suffered a hamstring injury and exited Monday's 4-1 loss to the Pirates in the bottom of the fifth inning, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

      Advice: Friedl made a diving catch in center field, robbing Nick Gonzales of an extra-base hit in the bottom of the fifth and injuring his hamstring in the process. Manager David Bell said Friedl had a full range of motion and strength, stating that the hamstring was "just tight."       Paul Skenes struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Monday in a win over the Reds.

      Advice: Skenes got into trouble in the opening frame when he surrendered a run-scoring double to Spencer Steer, but managed to escape the frame without any additional damage, and went on to limit Cincinnati’s lineup to just five baserunners over his final five innings of work. The electrifying 22-year-old rookie induced an eye-popping 18 swinging strikes in this one, including nine on his splinker alone, and finished with a near-elite 34 percent CSW. He’s recorded at least seven strikeouts in six of his first seven starts since arriving in the majors back in mid-May. He’s the real deal. He’ll bring a sparkling 2.29 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 53/7 K/BB ratio across 39 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a favorable matchup on Sunday against the strikeout-prone Rays. This was the second time since his injury that he's homered in consecutive contests, and he's up to seven long balls in just 11 games this season. He's added 11 RBI, 12 runs scored, two doubles and no stolen bases while batting .390 with a 1.398 OPS over 47 plate appearances. He's seen steady time between third base and designated hitter, though his lengthy injury may give the risk-averse fantasy manager caution despite Lewis' clear upside. Sunday's start was Singer's first allowing multiple home runs and was his second time in seven appearances completing six innings. He also homered in the first game of the doubleheader and has now slugged seven long balls in his first 12 games on the season.
