    • Doubles home go-ahead run
Friedl went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: In a back-and-forth affair, Friedl produced the go-ahead run in the sixth inning with a two-out double off lefty reliever Luke Little. The double extended Friedl's hit streak to five games, during which he's 6-for-19 with three extra-base hits, seven RBI and six runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 4:33 am
    • Extends hit streak to four games
Friedl went 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base, a home run, two RBI and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's 12-7 win over Colorado. He was also hit by a pitch twice.

Advice: Friedl, who launched one of four Cincinnati home runs in the come-from-behind victory, appears to be getting his swing in shape. After missing a significant amount of time to start the season, he's hit safely in four consecutive games, going 5-for-15 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs. The hit-by-pitches could become a concern, as Friedl has been plunked five times (T-21st) in just 56 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:28 am
    • Out at least one month
Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Carter (back) will be out for at least a month, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Carter was placed on the 10-day IL on May 28 with lower-back tightness. Bochy noted that the injury is worse than the Rangers initially thought and has since been reclassified as a stress reaction. Carter looks set to rest for at least a couple more weeks before he resumes baseball activities, and he'll likely need at least a handful of rehab games before being cleared to return from the 10-day injured list. Wyatt Langford has taken over as the Rangers' primary left fielder during Carter's absence, while Ezequiel Duran and Robbie Grossman could end up splitting most of the reps at designated hitter. • Evan Carter to miss one month with back injury
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Tuesday that Evan Carter will miss at least one month with a stress reaction in his back.

Advice: Not great. Bochy added that Carter isn’t dealing with a stress fracture, which would’ve required a much lengthier absence, but he’s facing a lengthier absence than originally anticipated when he hit the injured list last week with a back sprain. The 21-year-old top prospect is likely going to be on the shelf until sometime after next month’s All-Star break, even in a best-case scenario. Fantasy managers in re-draft formats can probably move on, especially in shallow mixed leagues. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:56 pm

    • Jackson Chourio heads back to bench Monday
Despite homering Sunday, Jackson Chourio is out of the lineup for Monday’s game against the Phillies.

Advice: Weird. This makes three times in the last five games that Chourio has been excluded from the lineup in favor of Sal Frelick and Blake Perkins. One would think the Brewers would want him playing everyday somewhere. The 20-year-old is hitting .214/.257/.345 with six homers in 180 plate appearances this season. Rotoworld Monday, 2:16 pm
    • Nolan Jones (back) starts rehab assignment
Nolan Jones (back, knee) began a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder went 0-for-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch in the contest. He should only need a few games to get his timing back before becoming an option to rejoin the Rockies’ lineup. Prior to landing on the injured list, Jones had struggled to a .170/.243/.277 slash line through his first 26 games with only one home run, seven RBI and a pair of stolen bases. • Back in action
Jones (knee) began a new rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Jones originally landed on the injured list April 30 with a back issue, but he then injured his knee during his original rehab assignment. It's now the latter issue that is keeping him sidelined, though he played with Albuquerque on Sunday and went 0-for-2 with a walk while also being hit with a pitch and serving as the designated hitter. • Launches first homer
Friedl went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Friedl provided all the Reds would need in the second inning when he bopped a two-out, three-run home run to give Cincinnati a 4-0 lead. It was the first home run of the season for Friedl, who is coming back from a second stint on the injured list and has played just 10 games this season. As he gets more plate appearances -- just 43 so far -- Friedl's timing should get better and he should improve on his .167 average. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:25 am
    • Knocks sixth homer
Chourio went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Chourio belted a three-run shot during Milwaukee's four-run second inning. It was his first long ball since May 15, snapping a 12-game drought. During that stretch, he was 6-for-36 (.167) with just two extra-base hits. The highly touted prospect is still trying to find his footing at the MLB level; he's slashing .214/.257/.345 with 10 extra-base hits and a 10:49 BB:K through 52 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:08 pm
