• Kyle Tucker blasts 12th homer in win over Tigers
Kyle Tucker blasted his league-leading 12th home run on Friday night, helping to power the Astros to a 5-2 victory over the Tigers in the opener of their three-game set in Motown.

Advice: Tucker finally got the Astros on the board in this one with his 409-foot (106.0 mph EV) solo shot off of Casey Mize in the sixth inning. He also drew a pair of walks and scored twice in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-3. On the season, the 27-year-old superstar outfielder is slashing .270/.391/.574 to go with the aforementioned 12 long balls, 26 RBI and six stolen bases. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

  • Matt Vierling plates two runs in loss to Astros
Matt Vierling doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Tigers and their pathetic offense over the Astros.

Advice: Vierling opened the scoring in the contest with his two-run double off of Framber Valdez in the third inning. That would be the extent of the Tigers’ offense in the contest., spoiling yet another terrific pitching performance from their starting rotation. Vierling finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .280/.304/.439 with three homers and 15 RBI. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

  • Andy Ibáñez swipes base in loss to Astros
Andy Ibáñez went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and a stolen base on Friday evening as the Tigers fell to the visiting Astros.

Advice: The known lefty-masher collected both of his hits off of Astros’ southpaw Framber Valdez. He singled in the third inning and raced around to score on Matt Vierling’s two-run double. He also added a single in the fifth inning and swiped second base to get himself into scoring position, but the Tigers were unable to cash him in. The 31-year-old infielder has impressed in his limited action this season, slashing a robust .349/.348/.512 with two homers, seven RBI and a swipe in 45 plate appearances. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

  • Reports to big-league club
The Angels activated Goodrum on Friday.

Advice: Goodrum had been with the Rays' Triple-A affiliate when he was DFA'd and later claimed by the Angels, but he will return to the majors as replacement depth for Ehire Adrianza, (back) who landed on the injured list Friday. Goodrum has experience at every position other than catcher, though he will likely return to the minors once Los Angeles' heavily-depleted infield unit begins returning from the IL. • Jason Heyward (back) nearing rehab assignment
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Friday that Jason Heyward (back) will begin a rehab assignment at some point next week.

Advice: The 34-year-old outfielder has been sidelined since the beginning of April due to stiffness in his back. He has been making progress in recent weeks though and is on track to return to the Dodgers’ lineup before the end of May barring any setbacks. Rotoworld Today, 4:45 pm

  • Lung Hoo Lee (foot) remains out of Giants’ lineup
Jung Hoo Lee (foot) remains out of the Giants’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Reds.

Advice: Lee also sat out Thursday’s game due to a sore foot. Giants’ skipper Bob Melvin said Friday that Lee may need an additional day off on Saturday, but that he should be able to return after that and won’t require a trip to the injured list. Let’s hope that’s the case and it doesn’t turn into an Jorge Soler (shoulder) situation. Rotoworld Today, 4:41 pm

  • Day off Friday
Renfroe isn't in the Royals' lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Renfroe will get a chance to regroup Friday after going 0-for-10 across his last three games. Dairon Blanco will cover right field instead and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 4:25 pm

  • Jordan Beck not in Rockies’ lineup on Friday night
Jordan Beck is not in the Rockies’ starting lineup for Friday’s matchup against the Rangers.

Advice: It’s the first time that the 23-year-old outfielder has received a day off since his promotion from Triple-A. It’s been a rough go at the plate for him so far, hitting just .156/.156/.188 with one run scored, zero RBI and a 14/0 K/BB ratio. If things don’t improve soon, he’s likely ticketed for a return to Triple-A. Rotoworld Today, 4:00 pm

  • Masataka Yoshida (thumb) will not need surgery
Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora announced Friday that Masataka Yoshida will not require surgery on his injured left thumb.

Advice: He’s still going to be shut down for a couple of weeks before he starts swinging a bat again, but overall this is encouraging news for the Red Sox and for fantasy managers. Yoshida has been shelved since the beginning of May. He has hit .275/.348/.388 with a pair of homers, 11 RBI and an 11/6 K/BB ratio over 89 plate appearances in 24 games on the season.
