    • Three extra-base hits in win
Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, two doubles and two total runs scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Alvarez is seeing the ball well lately, going 19-for-43 (.442) with four homers, five doubles, 11 RBI and just three strikeouts over his last 11 contests. He's even chipped in a pair of stolen bases in that span. Alvarez is up to 13 homers, 33 RBI, 37 runs scored, 15 doubles and three steals while slashing .296/.369/.514 over 64 contests. His spot in the lineup is virtually never in question, but he's picked up more time in left field recently with Chas McCormick sliding over to right to cover for the absence of Kyle Tucker (lower leg). • Back into lineup
McCormick went 1-for-4 with a triple and a run scored Saturday against the Angels.

Advice: McCormick returned to the starting lineup after Trey Cabbage got the nod over him in each of Houston's last two games. It remains to be seen how the Astros allocate playing time moving forward between the trio of Mauricio Dubon, McCormick and Cabbage, as that group will primarily cover two outfield positions while Kyle Tucker (shin) is sidelined. • Feeling better, could hit Sunday
Manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that Soto (forearm) will "probably" take swings Sunday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Boone said earlier Saturday that it would likely be a few more days before Soto would re-enter the Yankees' lineup. On top of being a candidate to hit Sunday, Soto went through a significant amount of his pregame prep Saturday, per Brendan Kuty of The Athletic, which is yet another encouraging sign for Soto after the injury scare Thursday. While the Yankees will almost certainly err on the side of caution with the three-time All-Star, pressure could be mounting for Soto to return after dropping two straight to the Dodgers and having the division lead slimmed to 2.5 games. • Swipes fourth bag
Hayes went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Twins.

Advice: The third baseman is up to four steals on the season, and all of them have come in his last eight games. Hayes is also batting .323 (10-for-31) over that stretch with a homer, four RBI and six runs, and he seems fully recovered from the back issues that cost him most of May and which may have contributed to his .239/.317/.318 slash line in April. • Juan Soto (forearm) could wind up on the 10-day IL
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Saturday that there’s a possibility superstar outfielder Juan Soto winds up on the 10-day injured list with his forearm injury.

Advice: As of now they’re taking things day-to-day, but Boone has already said that Soto won’t play this weekend and his status for Monday’s series opener against the Royals in Kansas City remains in the air. If he’s not ready by then, expect the Yankees to utilize a short stint on the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 1:58 pm

    • Remains out Saturday
Soto (forearm) isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Soto will miss a second consecutive game since making an early exit from Thursday's contest. The Yankees are optimistic that the slugging outfielder will be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, but manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that it will likely be a few more days before Soto gets back into the lineup, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. In the meantime, Trent Grisham will continue to start in center field while Aaron Judge fills the void in right. Rotowire.com Today, 1:00 pm

    • Juan Soto remains out Saturday with forearm injury
Juan Soto (forearm) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s highly-anticipated showdown against the Dodgers.

Advice: Soto will miss his second straight contest on Saturday evening after being held out of Friday’s series opener against Los Angeles due to left forearm inflammation. The positive news here for fantasy managers is that it sounds like the 25-year-old fantasy superstar isn’t facing an extended absence after additional testing didn’t reveal any ligament damage or other structural issues. However, it’s a tough development since this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting regular-season series of the year. He’s presumably day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 12:42 pm

    • Mason Miller nets first career victory on Friday
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Friday against the Blue Jays to pick up his first win of the season.

Advice: Miller’s fastball velocity was down slightly in this one as he failed to touch triple-digits on three fastballs, but was still averaging a sizzling 99.4 mph in this one. He needed just 12 pitches to strike out a pair of batters in a flawless ninth inning before JJ Bleday delivered a walk-off homer in the bottom of the frame to give him his first win of the year. The hard-thrwoing 25-year-old former top prospect has blossomed into arguably the best reliever in baseball this season with 12 saves to go along with a stellar 2.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 54/11 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 innings (22 appearances). • Chris Bassitt masterful Friday in Bay Area return
Chris Bassitt struck out seven and allowed one run over eight innings on Friday in a no-decision against the Atletics.

Advice: Bassit was forced to settle for a no-decision against his former organization in an impressive outing at pitcher-friendly Oakland Coliseum. He gave up only four hits and a pair of walks with a run-scoring ground out from JJ Bleday in the sixth-inning representing the lone tally against him in this one. He generated 15 swinging strikes and finished with a 29 percent CSW. It was a performance that should’ve resulted in a victory, but Toronto’s lineup was only able to muster one run on five hits in a low-scoring tractor pull. He’ll square off against the Brewers on Wednesday in his next outing. Rotoworld Today, 3:43 am
