• José Ramírez swats 20th homer, Guardians top O’s
José Ramírez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday, powering the Guardians to a 3-2 victory over the Orioles.

Advice: Ramírez kicked off the scoring during Monday’s series opener at Camden Yards with a run-scoring single in the opening before delivering a go-ahead solo shot -- his 20th round-tripper of the season -- off Orioles rookie southpaw Cade Povich in the sixth inning. The 31-year-old fantasy stalwart has been the model of consistency for nearly a decade at this point and has shown zero signs of slowing down at all. He’s been on a roll over the last few weeks, batting .317 (38-for-120) with 11 homers and eight steals over his last 30 games. He’s at 20 homers and 15 steals on the season with a real shot at notching his sixth career 20/20 campaign before the All-Star break. Unreal. Rotoworld Monday, 6:27 pm
  • Gabriel Arias ejected from game in ninth
Gabriel Arias was ejected from Monday’s game in the ninth inning for arguing balls and strikes.

Advice: Arias brought up the strike two pitch with umpire Jeremy Riggs after swinging and missing at strike three and was thrown out, even though he didn’t seem to say much at all. Arias had a double and a run scored in four at-bats on the night. Rotoworld Monday, 6:07 pm

  • Taking seat Monday
Ortiz is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Ortiz had started each of the previous 10 contests but will begin this one on the bench. Andruw Monasterio will cover third base while Ortiz gets some rest. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:17 pm

  • Maikel Garcia leads off, shifts to second base
Maikel Garcia is back in the leadoff spot and playing second base for the Royals on Monday.

Advice: It’s the first time Garcia has played anywhere other third this year, but the Royals just called up a third baseman in CJ Alexander and have Michael Massey apparently limited to DH at the moment. As a result, Garcia will get to show his versatility. The return to the leadoff spot is also good news; he had led off throughout the season before being dropped to seventh on Saturday and eighth on Sunday. Considering that he has a .291 OBP, there’s no blaming the Royals for making the switch. Still, he remains a better bet than the alternative options to bat ahead of Bobby Witt Jr. Rotoworld Monday, 2:07 pm

  • Activated, starting Monday
Arias (personal) was reinstated from the family medical emergency list and will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Monday's series opener in Baltimore.

Advice: Cleveland sent infielder Angel Martinez back to Triple-A Columbus to make room on the 26-man active roster for Arias, who rejoins the big club after missing the previous three games while tending to a personal matter. Though he'll immediately enter the lineup in his return to the Guardians as the Orioles send southpaw Cade Povich to the mound, the righty-hitting Arias is expected to serve as a bench player against right-handed pitching more often than not. • Loses hold of leadoff gig
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a base hit in Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Garcia had made each of his first 74 starts of the season as the Royals' leadoff hitter, but he was dropped down to seventh and eighth in the batting order over the final two games of the weekend in Texas. His slide down the lineup comes while he's mustered a .152/.221/.177 slash line over 20 games thus far in June. The Royals haven't yet settled on a replacement for Garcia atop the lineup, as both Adam Frazier (thumb) and Nick Loftin received turns in the leadoff spot to close out the weekend. • Goes yard again
Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 4-0 win over Kansas City.

Advice: Smith tagged Sam Long for a solo shot in the seventh inning, marking Smith's third home run in the last five games. During that stretch, he's 7-for-13 with six RBI. With third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) nearing a return, Smith could shift away from the hot corner and into the DH slot. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:40 pm
  • Lifts seventh homer
Vientos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Vientos has two homers over his last four contests after going deep in the eighth inning Sunday. The third baseman is up to seven long balls, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases while slashing .289/.344/.526 over 125 plate appearances. Vientos has been operating in a starting role at the hot corner since Brett Baty was demoted to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of May. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:25 pm
