    • Not in Thursday's lineup
France is out of the lineup for Thursday's contest in Minnesota.

Advice: France is just 1-for-11 with seven strikeouts over his last three games, so he'll get a day off to regroup. Luke Raley will make just his third start of the season at first base while France sits. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 am

    • Drives in four in twin bill
Heim went 2-for-7 with a walk, two runs scored and four RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the A's.

Advice: After going 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly as the DH in the matinee, Heim moved behind the plate for the nightcap and drove in three more runs. The 28-year-old catcher has four multi-hit performances in his last seven games, a surge that has boosted his slash line on the season to .300/.341/.425 with four homers, 18 runs and 26 RBI through 33 contests. • Homer, double in win
Arcia went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer in Wednesday's win over Boston.

Advice: The 29-year-old took Nick Pivetta deep in his first at-bat, going back-to-back with Marcell Ozuna as Atlanta jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Arcia then followed up another Ozuna home run with a double in the third but was left stranded. It marked the shortstop's 11th multi-hit performance of the season, though his previous one came back on April 26. He's also hit safely in four of his last five contests. • Moving to cleanup
Devers is expected to hit in the four-hole for the foreseeable future, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Devers slotted in at cleanup Wednesday and went 1-for-4 in a loss to Atlanta. He usually hits second in the order, but manager Alex Cora wants to separate the two lefties at the top -- Jarren Duran bats leadoff. Connor Wong hit second Wednesday against lefty Chris Sale, and Cora said he'll probably use Wilyer Abreu there against righties. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:49 pm

    • Steps in to close out game
McArthur picked up the save Wednesday against the Brewers after a perfect two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: The ball was handed to Tyler Duffey for the ninth, but after Duffey walked two batters and gave up a double to Brice Turang, McArthur was forced to step in and close the door. The save snapped McArthur out of a two-game slump in which he allowed five runs (four earned) and was charged with two blown saves and two losses. McArthur now has eight saves on the season, which is tied for the fourth most in the AL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:28 pm
    • Arcia posts two hits, home run against Red Sox
Orlando Arcia went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Wednesday’s victory over the Red Sox.

Advice: The home run was Arcia’s third of the campaign, and he’s now up to a .270 average. Last season, he hit .264 with 17 home runs, 65 RBI and 66 runs scored, and he’s basically on pace to replicate those numbers. Arcia’s not going to steal bases and he’s nothing spectacular at the plate, but he derives some value from playing every day for one of the best lineups in baseball. • Beginning assignment Sunday
Snell (thigh) will throw a bullpen session Thursday and begin a rehab assignment at Single-A San Jose on Sunday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Snell began facing hitters Tuesday, and he has now been given the green light to test his injured thigh in a competitive setting. The left-hander may have his assignment moved to a higher-level affiliate after his rehab outing Sunday, though it is possible the Giants opt to return him to their rotation after just one start. • Blake Snell tabbed for rehab start on Sunday
Blake Snell (adductor) is scheduled to make a minor league rehab start at Single-A San Jose on Sunday.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw will first throw a bullpen session on Thursday, then if all goes well he’ll be cleared to take the mound in that rehab start. Snell has been shelved since April 24 due to a left adductor strain. It remains to be seen if he’ll require any additional rehab starts after Sunday’s tune-up, or if he’ll be ready to return to the Giants’ rotation if things go well there. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:04 pm

    • Corey Seager sits for nightcap on Wednesday
Corey Seager is not in the Rangers’ starting lineup for the nightcap of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Athletics.

Advice: The 30-year-old superstar shortstop went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout during the first game and is slashing an underwhelming .230/.303/.309 with three homers and 13 RBI on the season. Josh Smith will start in his place at shortstop and bat fifth for the Rangers on Wednesday evening against Osvaldo Bido and the A’s. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:29 pm
