    • Josh Hader notches four-out save against Yankees
Josh Hader recorded a four-out save on Thursday against the Yankees.

Advice: Hader came on to record the final out of the eighth inning before heading back out to spin a scoreless ninth inning to collect his fourth save of the season. The 30-year-old lefty has converted four of five save chances in his Astros debut so far to go along with a bloated 5.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 25/7 K/BB ratio across 16 innings (16 appearances). There’s zero reason for concern here moving forward as he continues to miss bats at an elite rate. Rotoworld Today, 5:05 pm
    • Marcus Stroman serves up two homers in loss
Marcus Stroman was tagged for four runs over 5 2/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Stroman coughed up a pair of first-inning homers and also served up a run-scoring single to Jeremy Peña in the fifth inning, which was enough to saddle him with a loss in a low-scoring affair at Yankee Stadium. He struck out five and also issued a pair of walks. He’ll bring a serviceable 3.80 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 40/22 K/BB ratio across 42 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a road matchup on Wednesday against the Twins. Rotoworld Today, 5:04 pm
    • Dominates old team
Sale (5-1) earned the win over the Red Sox on Wednesday, hurling six shutout innings while allowing six hits and one walk. He struck out 10.

Advice: Sale allowed at least one hit in each of his first five innings of work but was consistently able to work his way through it without sustaining any damage. He logged just one 1-2-3 inning, which came in the sixth, while fanning a season-high 10 batters on the night. The veteran lefty has now logged quality starts in three of his last four outings and hasn't produced fewer than six strikeouts in any of his seven starts this season. He's also won each of his last four starts. Rotowire.com Today, 3:34 am

    • Goes deep Wednesday
Stanton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-4 win against Houston.

Advice: Stanton hit one of three homers for New York in the victory, taking Spencer Arrighetti deep for a 447-foot solo blast in the third inning. It was the second straight game with a long ball for the slugger, and he extended his modest hitting streak to five games. Stanton has struck out 10 times in 20 at-bats over that stretch, so he's far from locked in at the plate, but three of his five hits during the streak have gone for extra bases. • Sale dominates former team Wednesday
Chris Sale was utterly dominant with six shutout innings and 10 strikeouts and picked up the win in the 5-0 victory over the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Sale lowered his ERA on the season to 2.95 with the excellent outing. He certainly showed the Red Sox what they’re missing after trading him last offseason. The win was Sale’s fifth in seven starts this season. His 52 strikeouts are in the top 10 among qualified starting pitchers. Sale is set to take on the Chicago Cubs at home next week. • Back on track with sixth save
Estevez retired all three batters he faced with two strikeouts to earn the save Wednesday against the Pirates.

Advice: The right-hander pitched a scoreless ninth Tuesday in a blowout victory in his first appearance of May, which gives him back-to-back scoreless appearances after he gave up six runs over his previous four outings. Estevez has converted six of eight save chances and has an ugly 5.06 ERA over 10.2 innings this season, but a 0.84 WHIP and 13:0 K:BB are encouraging. His status as the Angels' closer should be stable for now. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:53 pm

    • Carlos Estévez perfect in earning sixth save
Carlos Estévez worked a perfect ninth against the Pirates for his sixth save Wednesday.

Advice: Estévez had given up six runs in his previous five appearances, but he had an easy time today, striking out two of the three batters he faced. This was his second straight day pitching, so he’ll probably need Thursday off. That could create a save chance for Luis García. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:20 pm

    • Cleared for rehab assignment
Gelof (oblique) will join Triple-A Las Vegas this weekend to begin a rehab assignment, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gelof has missed the last two weeks with a strained left oblique but has been upping his baseball activities in recent days and was spotted running the bases earlier Wednesday, per Gallegos. Because the young infielder hasn't missed much time, he shouldn't need too many at-bats in the minors before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 am

    • Picks up 12th save
Finnegan struck out one batter during a perfect ninth inning to pick up the save Tuesday against Baltimore.

Advice: Finnegan has been one of the most reliable closers in the big leagues this season, and he now leads the majors after picking up his 12th save Tuesday. The 32-year-old right-hander owns a 1.76 ERA and 0.85 WHIP, and he's struck out 15 batters across 15.1 innings on the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:02 am
