    • Logan Webb settles for no-decision against Cubs
Logan Webb allowed two runs over seven innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Cubs.

Advice: Webb coughed up a two-run homer to Dansby Swanson in the second inning on Tuesday evening at Wrigley Field, but managed to keep Chicago’s potent lineup off the scoreboard into the late stages of this one. He struck out five and only issued one walk. The 27-year-old righty has completed six frames in eight consecutive starts since May 10. He’ll bring a solid 2.99 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 82/21 K/BB ratio across 99 1/3 innings (16 starts) into a rematch on Monday against the Cubs back at Oracle Park. Rotoworld Today, 2:55 am
    • Grabs one-out save
Phillips struck out the only batter he faced to earn the save in Tuesday's 11-9 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Alex Vesia issued a two-out walk, and Phillips was able to strike out Hunter Goodman on five pitches to secure the save after the Dodgers' ninth-inning comeback. Aside from a three-run misstep in Pittsburgh on June 6, Phillips has pitched well since his return from a hamstring injury. He's at 11 saves with a 1.89 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB over 19 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:09 pm
    • Evan Phillips retires one batter for 11th save
Evan Phillips notched a one-out save against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: The Dodgers initially brought in Alex Vesia for the ninth tonight, but they turned to Phillips after Nolan Jones walked with two outs. Philips responded with a strikeout of Hunter Goodman, giving him his 11th save. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:20 pm
    • Quality start in no-decision
Webb did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Cubs, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Webb collected his third consecutive quality start and 12th of the season with a solid 101-pitch outing. The San Francisco ace's only blemish of the game came in the second inning when he allowed a 401-foot two-run home run to Dansby Swanson. With this outing, Webb pushed his ERA down to 2.99 over 99.1 innings this year. He'll look to eclipse the 100-inning threshold for the fourth consecutive season in his next start, currently slated come against the Cardinals on the road. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:09 pm
    • Yordan Alvarez out Tuesday due to family matter
Yordan Alvarez is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the White Sox due to a family matter.

Advice: The positive news here for fantasy managers is that Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Alvarez could return as early as Wednesday. The 26-year-old slugger, who boasts a stellar .873 OPS with 14 homers and a career-high three steals this season through 71 games, is getting his first off day since May 18. • Dealing with family matter
Alvarez (personal) is absent from the Astros' lineup Tuesday versus the White Sox due to a family matter, according to manager Joe Espada, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Alvarez was set to take a seat for the first time since May 17, but it is now understood to be a result of a personal matter regarding his family. Espada said Tuesday that it's possible Alvarez is back with the team Wednesday, but his status appears to be day-to-day for the time being. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:32 pm

    • Breather Tuesday
Alvarez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the White Sox, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Alvarez will get a breather after he went 2-for-9 with two RBI and two strikeouts over the team's three-game series with the Tigers prior to Monday's off day. Yainer Diaz will slot in at designated hitter while Victor Caratini enters the lineup at catcher and bats seventh versus Chicago. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:16 pm

    • Starting Tuesday
Yoshida (hand) will DH and bat sixth Tuesday against Toronto, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: Yoshida was hit in the hand by a pitch Sunday and was precautionarily held out of Monday's game against the Blue Jays with lefty Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for Toronto. As expected, Yoshida will be back in action Tuesday, filling his usual DH role. In five games this month, Yoshida is batting 2-for-17 (.118 ) with a double and a run scored. • Without timeline for return
Carpenter hasn't resumed baseball activities since being diagnosed with a lumbar spine stress fracture in late May, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Carpenter was placed on the 10-day injured list May 29 with lumbar spine inflammation, only for his diagnosis to change a couple days later once he underwent further testing. Three weeks after landing on the shelf, Carpenter remains limited to doing what manager A.J. Hinch described as therapy work, so the 26-year-old still looks to be at least a couple weeks away from being ready for game action. During Carpenter's ongoing absence, Matt Vierling has taken hold of a full-time role in the outfield, and Justyn-Henry Malloy has settled in as the Tigers' primary designated hitter.
