    • Brayan Bello strikes out seven in win over Orioles
Brayan Bello allowed three runs on five hits in five innings in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

Advice: The right-hander struck out seven and walked two on the evening. Bello had a rough first inning, allowing all three runs on three hits, but he bounced back exceptionally well and had his entire arsenal working, registering a 38 percent whiff rate and 37 percent CSW. Bello’s changeup was particularly effective on Tuesday, getting 10 whiffs on 21 swings, but he also had a 38 percent whiff rate on his slider which will be a big pitch for him if he wants to take the next step in his development. Overall, it was a strong showing for the 25-year-old, and he’ll now take a 4.18 ERA into a showdown with the Tigers this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 6:38 pm

    • Improves to 6-2
Bello (6-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Orioles, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Baltimore got to Bello early Tuesday by scoring three runs in the opening frame, before the right-hander settled in and blanked the Orioles over his subsequent four innings while allowing just one additional hit. It's the fifth win for Bello in his last six starts. His ERA sits at 4.18 through nine outings (47.1 innings) this year with a 1.18 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB. Bello's tentatively in line for a second start this week Sunday at home versus Detroit. Rotowire.com Today, 6:35 pm

    • Freddie Freeman powers Dodgers to win over Mets
Freddie Freeman went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI, powering the Dodgers to a 5-2 extra-inning win over the Mets in the front-end of Tuesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Freeman followed Mookie Betts’ go-ahead 10th-inning single with a majestic 383-foot missile to right field off Mets reliever Jorge López to give Los Angeles a commanding three-run lead that they wouldn’t relinquish. The 34-year-old also delivered a key run-scoring single in the eighth inning that jump-started the Dodgers’ late-inning rally. He hasn’t been an otherworldly force of nature at the dish, but still boasts an .855 OPS with six homers and one steal across 56 games. Rotoworld Today, 4:02 pm
    • Tracking toward return on Friday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Phillips (hamstring) is on track for activation from the 15-day injured list Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Phillips struck out two batters in a perfect inning in his first rehab appearance with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday. He's slated for one rehab outing before rejoining the Dodgers for their weekend series at home against the Rockies, assuming all goes well. Upon activation, Phillips should immediately step back in as the Dodgers' closer. Rotowire.com Today, 11:36 am

    • Evan Phillips (hamstring) could return Friday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Evan Phillips (hamstring) has a good chance to return to the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Phillips has looked the part in his rehab appearances as he works his way back from the hamstring injury that has sidelined the stopper since May 5. Once back on the roster, there’s every reason to believe that Phillips will receive the bulk of the save chances for Los Angeles, with Daniel Hudson and the rest of the Los Angeles bullpen serving as a bridge to Phillips. • Jeremy Peña fans four times in loss
Jeremy Peña struck out all four times he was up Monday in the loss to the Mariners.

Advice: That’s as many strikeouts as he totaled in his previous eight games. Peña is having a great season, but this was not his night. We’d still say it’s past time for the Astros to start batting him ahead of Alex Bregman in the order. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:31 pm

    • Delivers game-winning runs
Lowe hit a triple, drove in three and scored a run in his only plate appearance Sunday against the Royals.

Advice: Lowe got a day off even with righty Michael Wacha on the mound, though Lowe managed to deliver the game-winning knock after pinch-hitting with the bases loaded in the eighth inning. Despite the positive outcome Sunday, he is still only 3-for-18 with five strikeouts since returning from the injured list May 20. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:06 am

    • Tosses clean rehab inning
Phillips (hamstring) retired all three batters he faced -- including two by strikeout -- in a rehab outing with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday.

Advice: Phillips needed just 11 pitches to get through the frame. The appearance was the first for the closer since he went on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain May 5. Phillips will likely get in one or two more rehab outings before he's deemed ready to return to closing duties with the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:45 pm

    • Throws seven high-quality innings
Webb did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run (none earned) on three hits and a walk over seven innings against the Mets. He struck out eight.

Advice: The lone unearned run Webb allowed was set up by his own error, but he was lights-out otherwise with a season-high eight strikeouts and left the game in line for the win. The outing dropped Webb's ERA to 2.74 with a 1.26 WHIP across 72.1 innings. His next scheduled start is slated for next weekend when the Giants host the Yankees. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:29 pm
