    • Bags 13th save
Phillips earned the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox, pitching a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Advice: Phillips entered the ninth with a one-run lead and promptly retired the side on 14 pitches, including 10 strikes. The 29-year-old right-hander has been steady in June so far, firing a 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB over nine innings with five saves. Phillips has converted 14 consecutive saves, with his last blown save coming against Seattle on Sept. 16, 2023. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:02 pm

    • Freeman hits 12th homer in win over White Sox.
Freddie Freeman went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

Advice: Freeman’s two-run blast in the third tied the game at 3-3 after Bobby Miller put the Dodgers in a deficit early. Freeman now has 12 home runs and 48 RBI on the season and is slashing a solid .338/.433/.650 in the month of June with six homers and 15 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:35 pm

    • Brayan Bello shellacked in loss to Blue Jays
Brayan Bello allowed seven runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Advice: Bello held the Blue Jays scoreless for the first two innings, but the wheels fell off in a big way in the third inning. The first six batters of the inning reached before Bello could get a groundout, but then a home run to George Springer chased him from the game. The right-hander did get six whiffs on 20 swings in his limited time but he threw on 42 percent of his pitches in the strike zone and had no feel for anything on the night. After a strong start to the season, Bello has struggled over his final seven starts, and the loss of feel for his changeup, which has been his primary pitch in his young career, is concerning. • Progressing in baseball activities
Carpenter (back) took swings off a tee Monday and participated in throwing/running drills Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: The 26-year-old was shut down in late May due to a lumbar spine stress fracture, but he's now back to taking part in baseball activities. Carpenter still has significant rehab work to do before being ready for game action, and he'll likely require a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining the Tigers. • On bench as expected
Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Arcia was expected to miss Tuesday's game after being lifted from Monday's contest due to dizziness. Zack Short will fill in at shortstop and Arcia should be considered day-to-day moving forward. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:34 pm

    • Still out of lineup
Lowe (toe) isn't in the starting nine for Tuesday's game against Seattle.

Advice: Lowe will be on the bench for the third consecutive game after suffering a broken right pinky toe Saturday. While he's expected to avoid the IL and was available to pinch hit Sunday, it's slightly concerning he hasn't appeared since sustaining the injury. Jose Caballero will bat third and play second base Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:31 pm

    • Out of lineup again
Rosario (face) isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Rosario will miss a third straight game after being hit by a pitch in the face Sunday against Pittsburgh. It's unclear if he'll be available off the bench. The Rays will wrap up the Mariners' series Wednesday before having a team day off Thursday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:28 pm

    • Brandon Lowe out again Tuesday with toe injury
Brandon Lowe (toe) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Mariners.

Advice: Lowe suffered a broken pinkie toe Saturday, and hasn’t been able to play since. The 29-year-old will remain on the bench with Jose Caballero getting the start at second base and Taylor Walls starting at shortstop. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:22 pm

    • Deployed in eighth inning
Phillips earned a hold against the White Sox on Monday, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning of work.

Advice: It was somewhat surprising to see Phillips -- who is the Dodgers' primary closer -- used in the eighth frame, but there was plenty of sense behind the move given that the White Sox were bringing up the heart of their order. Phillips got through the inning unscathed despite allowing a one-out double to Luis Robert, and Alex Vesia earned his fourth save with a clean frame in the ninth. Phillips' usage Monday suggests that manager Dave Roberts isn't opposed to using him before the ninth inning in the highest-leverage situations, but the right-hander should still receive the vast majority of save chances for Los Angeles. He's been one of the most reliable closers in baseball this year with a perfect 12-for-12 mark in save opportunities along with a 1.66 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:50 pm
