    • Suffers bruised leg
X-rays on Pasquantino's lower left leg came back negative after he collided with Byron Buxton during Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Pasquantino had to come out of the game after taking a knee to the shin in the third inning, but he appears to have escaped the incident with no more than a bruise. The Royals are officially listing the 26-year-old first baseman as day-to-day, though he may sit out a game or two as a precaution. Rotowire.com Today, 6:19 pm

    • X-rays negative on Vinnie Pasquantino’s leg
X-rays came back negative on Vinnie Pasquantino’s left leg.

Advice: Pasquantino is officially day-to-day with a lower left leg contusion. It’s a massive relief for the Royals, and fantasy managers, as the 26-year-old first baseman appears to have avoided serious injury following a collision with Twins center fielder Byron Buxton during Tuesday’s contest in Minnesota. It’s possible he’ll get a couple days off to recover, but is unlikely to require an extended absence. Rotoworld Today, 6:17 pm

    • Exits with apparent injury
Pasquantino was removed from Tuesday's game against the Twins due to an apparent leg injury, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Advice: Pasquantino came up limping after a collision with Byron Buxton, who was attempting to leg out an infield single during the third inning. The Royals will take a closer look at their first baseman in the clubhouse and should offer an update on his status relatively soon. Rotowire.com Today, 5:40 pm

There should be an update on his status at some point shortly. Rotoworld Today, 5:38 pm

    • Merrill Kelly (shoulder) set to resume throwing
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Merrill Kelly (shoulder) will start a throwing program next week.

Advice: Kelly has been out since late April due to a right shoulder strain and is going to require several weeks of bullpen sessions and rehab starts before he’s an option for Arizona again. Rotoworld Today, 4:52 pm

    • Nearing throwing program
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Kelly (shoulder) is expected to begin a throwing program next week, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: The right-hander has apparently been progressing well in his recovery from a right shoulder strain and is now on the cusp of resuming baseball work. Kelly will require some time to build his arm up before progressing to mound work and eventually a rehab assignment, so he shouldn't be expected to rejoin the Diamondbacks until sometime in July. • On bench Tuesday
Julien is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: As usual, Julien will give way to Kyle Farmer at second base with a left-handed pitcher on the mound. Julien has just three hits in his last 27 at-bats and could start losing work against RHP if his struggles persist. Rotowire.com Today, 12:10 pm

The center fielder added a swipe of third base in the eighth inning to give him 10 thefts on the campaign. Chisholm is working on a six-game hitting streak during which he's gone 9-for-23 with three doubles, two homers, three RBI and four runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:24 pm
