    • Could be activated June 24
Contreras (forearm) could be activated from the 10-day injured list as soon as next Monday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Contreras will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday and might require less than a week of rehab games before rejoining the Cardinals lineup. Woo cautions that the catcher's timeline for rejoining the big club remains tentative, and a firmer return date may not come into focus until Contreras gets a few rehab games under his belt. • Willson Contreras (forearm) starts rehab assignment
Willson Contreras (forearm) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Contreras has been cleared to return to game action and is targeting a return to St. Louis before the end of the month. The 32-year-old backstop has made a rapid recovery from surgery last month to repair a fractured left forearm. There’s a chance he’s back by the start of next week. Rotoworld Today, 8:27 am

    • Posts season-high seven Ks
Eflin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk over 5.2 innings against Atlanta. He struck out seven.

Advice: Eflin entered the sixth inning with a four-run lead, but after retiring the first two batters in the frame, he allowed four consecutive singles and was removed one out shy of completing six full innings. The seven strikeouts marked a season high for Eflin, who had failed to record more than three strikeouts during any of his previous five starts. He'll carry a 4.12 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into his next start, currently slated to take place over the weekend when the Rays travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates. • Lit up Sunday
Wheeler (8-4) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

Advice: It was a long day for Wheeler, who allowed four homers after having previously allowed only six long balls over his first 14 starts this season. The eight earned runs allowed matched a career high for Wheeler, who hadn't given up that many in a start since 2018. Sunday's poor effort raised his ERA from 2.16 to 2.84. Wheeler had won his previous eight decisions prior to Sunday's loss, which dropped him to 8-4 on the season. He'll look to get back on track during his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Diamondbacks come to Philly for a rematch of last season's NLCS. • Suffers hand fracture
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Betts fractured a bone in his left wrist in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Royals and will be out 'for some time," Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. He went

Advice: Betts went hitless in three at-bats before he exited the game in the seventh inning, when he went down in a heap of pain after taking a fastball off his wrist. On the bright side, Roberts said that the 31-year-old shortstop won't need surgery to repair the injury. Betts will likely be placed on the injured list Monday, and in his absence, Miguel Rojas could step into a starting role in the middle infield for Los Angeles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:01 pm

    • Mookie Betts diagnosed with fractured left hand
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters after Sunday’s game that Mookie Betts has been diagnosed with a fractured left hand.

Advice: The unfortunate injury occurred when he was hit by a 98 mph fastball during Sunday’s game against the Royals. Roberts relayed that while the injury will not require surgery, it will take time to heal. He wouldn’t elaborate on that timetable, other than to say that the injury will not end his 2024 season. Expect Miguel Rojas to see increased action at shortstop while the 31-year-old superstar is shelved. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:45 pm

    • Exits after being hit by pitch
Betts exited Sunday's contest with the Royals in the seventh inning after being hit in the left hand by a pitch, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Advice: Betts took a 97.9 mph fastball from reliever Dan Altavilla off his left hand in the bottom of the seventh inning, immediately exiting the contest afterward. The 31-year-old was in an obvious amount of pain, and more information on his status will likely come following the conclusion of the game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:11 pm

    • Mookie Betts leaves game after hit by pitch Sunday
Mookie Betts was removed from Sunday’s battle against the Royals after being hit in the left hand/wrist area by a 98 mph fastball.

Advice: The 31-year-old superstar was in obvious pain afterwards and the Dodgers immediately made the call to replace him with pinch-runner Miguel Rojas. He’ll head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage. All fantasy managers can do now is wait and hope for the best. The Dodgers should have an update on his status shortly. • Zack Wheeler bombarded by Orioles
Zack Wheeler allowed eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Orioles. He struck out four and walked two.

Advice: This was Wheeler’s worst start as a Phillie and the first time he’s allowed eight earned runs since 2018. Baltimore jumped on him with homers in each of the first three innings and then Jordan Westburg put the cherry on top with his three-run blast. Even the best pitchers in baseball have a day like this and it’s less surprising when it comes against one of the best lineups in baseball. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:44 pm
