    • Sharp vs. Reds
Gibson (4-2) earned the win Tuesday over Cincinnati, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Gibson was excellent Tuesday, as he held the Reds to one hit until Will Benson ended his shutout bid with a homer in the sixth inning. The 36-year-old Gibson has held opponents to two earned runs or fewer in eight of his last nine outings. He's lowered his ERA to 3.60 with a 1.22 WHIP and 52:25 K:BB across 11 starts (65 innings) this year. Gibson's currently in line for a road matchup with the Astros in his next outing early next week. • Kyle Gibson keeps Reds bats in check in win
Kyle Gibson allowed just one run on two hits in six innings in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: Gibson struck out six and walked one and the only real damage was a solo home run to Will Benson in the sixth inning. The 36-year-old posted an impressive 15 whiffs for a 34 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW. Gibson used all six of his pitches on the night, and had a 38 percent whiff rate on the sweeper while his cutter pounded the strike zone for a 41 percent CSW. The veteran now has a 3.60 ERA on the season but gets a tough start on the road against the Astros next week. Rotoworld Today, 6:23 pm

    • Takes loss versus Rays
Wacha (4-5) allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out seven over six-plus innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Rays.

Advice: Wacha was perfect through five innings and pitched around two baserunners in the sixth. He then gave up two hits to start the seventh, and John Schreiber allowed both runners plus two more to come around to score. Despite the loss, this was Wacha's fourth straight quality start and his sixth such outing of the season. He's pitched to a 4.31 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 54:19 K:BB through 62.2 innings over 11 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus his most recent former team, the Padres. • Michael Wacha strikes out seven in loss
Michael Wacha pitched six-plus innings on Sunday against the Rays. He struck out seven, walked one, and allowed two earned runs.

Advice: Wacha took a perfect game into the sixth inning in this one and seemed completely in control until a Rays’ rally in the seventh chased him and John Schreiber allowed both of Wacha’s inherited runners to come home. His slider and changeup were both strong here in what’s been four straight solid starts for Wacha. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:58 pm

    • Yusei Kikuchi struggles through three innings
Yusei Kikuchi was pulled after allowing five runs and eight hits in three innings Sunday against the Tigers.

Advice: Kikuchi’s velocity was down 1.5 mph on this fastball and about 2.5 mph on his secondary pitches today, and he failed to record a strikeout against the 17 batters he faced. It was easily his worst performance of the year. Hopefully, the velocity drop can be explained by an illness or something else minor. Rotoworld Sunday, 12:27 pm
    • Roughed up in no-decision
Kikuchi escaped Sunday's 14-11 loss to Detroit with a no-decision, yielding five earned runs on eight hits over just three innings. He did not record a walk or strikeout.

Advice: Kikuchi got roughed up in this one, surrendering four extra-base hits including a solo home run to Spencer Torkelson. The five earned runs are a season high for Kikuchi, who entered this game on a four-game streak allowing two runs or fewer. The 32-year-old still sports a solid 3.25 ERA after Sunday's outing, but more regression could be coming if his 0.74 HR/9 normalizes to his career average of 1.56. His is tentatively slated for a home start next weekend against the Pirates. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:17 pm
    • Turns in quality start
Mikolas allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: Mikolas had an extra day of rest after Friday's game was rained out and his started was pushed back. The right-hander threw 82 pitches (53 strikes) in a decent performance, though he exited with the game tied at 3-3. He's tossed three quality starts over five outings in May, allowing 13 runs over 27 innings this month. For the season, Mikolas has a 5.64 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 45:13 K:BB over 59 innings across 11 starts. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start in Philadelphia, which is a daunting matchup for a pitcher that has had middling results at best in 2024. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:57 pm

    • Miles Mikolas logs quality start in no-decision
Miles Mikolas logged a quality start in a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday evening, giving up three runs on four hits across his six frames.

Advice: The 35-year-old right-hander piled up six strikeouts on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. All of the damage done against him came in the fourth inning, as Nico Hoerner roped a two-run double to left field and scored on an RBI knock off the bat of Michael Busch. Mikolas generated eight swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night, posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to get back in the win column as he brings an uninspiring 5.64 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 45/13 K/BB ratio (59 innings) into next weekend’s start against the Phillies in Philadelphia. • Picks up win No. 6 Saturday
Keller (6-3) picked up the victory Saturday against Atlanta, allowing just one run on six hits over 6.2 innings. He registered four strikeouts.

Advice: Keller was efficient, needing only 88 pitches to complete his 6.2 frames. Although the right-hander struck out just four, he had a solid 15 whiffs on his 88 offerings. Keller entered May with a 5.18 ERA and no wins in his last three starts. In four outings this month, he's 4-0 with a 1.30 ERA, although the strikeouts haven't been there with only 19 in 33.1 innings. Keller's next outing is projected to come in Toronto. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:05 pm
