      Advice: Though Hoerner was diagnosed with a small fracture in his right hand over the weekend, he avoided a stint on the injured list and will make his return to the lineup after missing only four starts. Before his recent absence, Hoerner had gone 0-for-8 over his last three starts, and it may take a bit for him to regain full strength in his hand and recapture the exit velocities he had provided prior to suffering the injury. Down 2-0, Gorman tried to kick-start a Cardinals comeback, leading off with a solo homer, but St. Louis couldn't plate the game-tying run.       Nolan Gorman went 1-for-4 with a home run in the Cardinals’ loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

      Advice: Gorman’s solo blast in the bottom of the ninth, marked his 15th homer of the season. It was also the only run the Cardinals plated on the evening, as they spent much of the night being locked down by Paul Skenes and the Pirates’ bullpen. Gorman has just three hits in his last five games and is slashing .265/.342/.618 on the month.
