Rodon (9-4) took the loss Friday as the Yankees fell 8-1 to Atlanta, surrendering eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The Atlanta offense came to life at the wrong time for Rodon, as he got taken deep by Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley and Matt Olson before exiting the game after 93 pitches (56 strikes). The southpaw hadn't served up multiple homers in a start since May 2. After a run of seven straight quality starts, he's been tagged for 12 earned runs in 8.2 innings over his last two outings. Allen (8-3) earned the win Thursday against the Mariners, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks across six innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Allen did not start off well, allowing a leadoff single to J.P. Crawford followed by a homer to Dylan Moore, but he allowed just one more run the rest of the way to earn his eighth win and complete his fifth quality start of the season. Allen, who also hit a batter on the day, continues to struggle with missing bats, having struck out just eight batters over the last three starts spanning 17 innings after having struck out 51 across 58.2 innings during his first 12 outings. Despite the dearth of strikeouts during this most recent stretch, Allen's ERA stands at 3.17 over the last three games as opposed to 5.83 during the 12 games prior. Cole (elbow) didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Orioles, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts over four innings.

Advice: Cole surrendered a run on an RBI double by Ryan O'Hearn in the first inning then settled in over the next three frames. He allowed a single to Cedric Mullins to open the fifth and was pulled after throwing 62 pitches, but Mullins scored on a home run surrendered by Yankees reliever Ron Marinaccio. Cole maxed out at 68 pitches during his minor-league rehab assignment, so the Yankees seemed to ease him back in for his 2024 MLB debut. Advice: Cole has been on the injured list all season due to nerve irritation in his right elbow, but he will now officially return to the Yankees' rotation and make his season debut Wednesday against the Orioles. The 33-year-old righty was dominant during his three rehab starts, posting a minuscule 0.73 ERA while striking out 19 batters and walking none in 12.1 innings. However, he built up to only 68 pitches during his time in the minors, so he will likely be working under some sort of restriction during his return to a big-league mound. Marsh (5-4) allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over three innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Athletics.

Advice: After looking to have righted the ship with seven one-hit innings versus the Yankees in his last start, Marsh took another step back. He's given up at least four runs in four of his last five starts, and this one was his shortest outing of the campaign. The right-hander's ERA shot up to 4.37 with a 1.17 WHIP and 65:21 K:BB over 70 innings across 13 starts.
