    Advice: Peguero was a somewhat surprising exclusion from the Pirates' Opening Day roster and wound up spending a couple months at Indianapolis before getting another shot with the big club. He did not appear in any of the games on which he wagered, and MLB determined the outcomes of the contests were not compromised in any fashion.     Tucupita Marcano has been banned from baseball for life for violating Major League Baseball’s betting policy.

    Advice: This was first reported by Lindsay Adler and Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal on Monday, and now it’s official. The investigation by MLB found that Marcano bet more than $150,000 on baseball, with $87,319 of that on bets related to baseball.
