    • Rare regular-rest start Sunday
Lopez will start on regular rest Sunday versus the Phillies for just the second time this season, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lopez struggled in his last start Tuesday versus the Giants, allowing just two runs but walking four over five inefficient innings. Atlanta has baked in extra rest for Lopez whenever it can during the first half as the right-hander shifts from reliever to starter, but he'll take the ball on normal rest against the division rival Phillies this weekend. With 79.1 innings in 2024, Lopez has already exceeded his workload from each of the previous two seasons. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

    • Secures 13th save
Duran struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his 13th save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: After missing the first month of the season with an oblique strain, Duran has had a little trouble finding his usual form, but he may be coming around. The right-hander has been scored upon only once in his last 11 appearances, posting a 1.64 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB through 11 innings over that stretch while collecting three wins, three saves and a hold. • Fades in no-decision
Woods Richardson came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Tigers, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: After cruising through four scoreless innings, the right-hander began to run out of gas in the fifth, serving up a solo shot to Justyn-Henry Malloy and a two-run blast to Ryan Kreidler that briefly gave Detroit a 3-2 lead. Woods Richardson was eventually lifted after 94 pitches (61 strikes), falling just short of his fifth quality start of the season. He'll carry a 3.52 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60:21 K:BB through 71.2 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Astros. Rotowire.com Today, 5:47 am
    • Bickford clears waivers, assigned to Triple-A
Yankees assigned RHP Phil Bickford to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes/Barre.

Advice: Bickford cleared waivers and elected to report to Triple-A rather than hit free agency. He allowed nine runs (eight earned) in five innings with the Yankees (14.40 ERA). Bickford has a 2.93 ERA in 22 Triple-A appearances this year. He would need to be added back to the 40-man roster before the Yankees could call on him again as bullpen depth. • Inefficient in no-decision
Lopez came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The right-hander blanked San Francisco through four innings but was far from efficient, and when he served up back-to-back solo shots to begin the fifth, Lopez got the hook after 101 pitches (57 strikes). He's walked four batters in two straight trips to the mound, while the 4.1 innings represented his shortest start of the year. Despite the recent stumbles, he still hasn't given up more than three earned runs in an outing in 2024. He'll take a 1.83 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 87:31 K:BB through 83.2 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Phillies. Rotowire.com Today, 5:29 am

    • Notches 15th save
Doval struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his 15th save of the season in a 5-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander was in peak form, whiffing Adam Duvall with a 100.6 mph cutter to end the game. Doval blew his last save chance Friday though, and consistency has been an issue for him all year -- through 33.2 innings, he's posted a 4.28 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 44:22 K:BB, a significant step backwards from his ratios the prior two seasons. • Bullpen set for Wednesday
Hendriks (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday at loanDepot park in Miami, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Wednesday's bullpen will be the first of three scheduled sessions for Hendriks, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery. He will throw again Friday and Sunday while the Red Sox are in New York for a series against the Yankees. Hendriks said Wednesday's session is about throwing pitches, while the weekend work is more about mechanics. He's essentially recovered from the surgery and is now building up arm strength. • Throws perfect eighth
Cruz struck out one over a scoreless inning and picked up a hold in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Yankees.

Advice: The Yankees erased most of the Reds' 5-0 in the middle innings before Cruz and closer Alexis Diaz shut down New York's final six batters in order. The hold was Cruz's team-leading 16th. After a rocky first month-and-a-half, Cruz has settled in, pitching to a 2.08 ERA with 26 strikeouts over the last 17.1 innings (20 appearances). Rotowire.com Today, 4:38 am
    • Collects third win
Littell (3-5) earned the win Tuesday against the Royals, throwing five shutout innings while giving up four hits and striking out four batters.

Advice: Littell was remarkably efficient Tuesday, needing only 68 pitches to get through five innings. Had it not been for a two-plus-hour rain delay, the 28-year-old righty almost certainly would have made it deeper into the game. Nonetheless, Tampa Bay's offense provided just enough run support before his removal for him to record his first win since May 11. Littell will now carry a 3.94 ERA and 1.32 WHIP into his next start against the Rangers over the weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 12:35 am
