• Trevor Megill slams door on Tigers on Saturday
Trevor Megill slammed the door on the Tigers on Saturday afternoon, working a perfect ninth inning to protect a one-run lead.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander made it look awfully easy again in this one, getting Matt Vierling on a ground ball to shortstop, Riley Greene on a fly ball to right and Mark Canha on a fly ball to center to end it. He has been outstanding overall on the season, posting a 2.12 ERA and a 24/4 K/BB ratio over 17 innings while converting nine of his first 10 save chances. Rotoworld Today, 4:24 pm
  • Luis Medina gives up six runs in loss to Blue Jays
Luis Medina surrendered six runs with one strikeout over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Medina struggled to find the zone in the opening frame, walking the bases loaded before Danny Jansen brought a run in on a sacrifice fly. He was able to escape the inning with just the one run scored and tossed three more scoreless innings until he unraveled in the fifth. Kevin Kiermaier led off with a solo homer before three doubles, a walk, and a base hit made it six runs on Medina. He’d be pulled with two outs in the inning, ending his day with a 5.23 ERA,, 1.35 WHIP, and a 7/7 K/BB ratio across 10 1/3 innings. He’s currently in line for a matchup against the Twins in Minnesota on Thursday. Rotoworld Today, 4:19 pm

  • Strikes out season-high eight
Marsh (5-3) got the win vs the Mariners on Saturday. He went five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out eight.

Advice: Marsh gave up a leadoff homer to J.P. Crawford but would settle in nicely, as he retired the next 13 batters in order. He struck out eight of those 13 hitters, which is a new season high and three away from his career high. Marsh ran into trouble in the fifth and wound up allowing four runs before being pulled, his third straight outing in which he's given up at least four earned runs. His ERA has gone from 2.72 to 4.05 over his last three starts, but he remains a key piece of the Royals' revitalized rotation this season. Rotowire.com Today, 4:01 pm

  • Carmen Mlodzinski records five outs as opener Saturday
Carmen Mlodzinski tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings as the opener in a no-decision against the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: With injuries to the pitching staff, Mlodzinski made the start as the opener against the Twins. He recorded the first five outs for the team, striking out one with no hits or walks allowed. The 25-year-old right-hander will likely revert back to the bullpen with a 5.84 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and a 12/8 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Today, 3:59 pm

  • Simeon Woods Richardson takes loss vs. Pirates
Simeon Woods Richardson allowed one run with six strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Woods Richardson was excellent on Saturday despite taking a tough-luck loss as the Twins were unable to give him any run support. He scattered five hits over six scoreless innings, striking out six batters with no walks allowed. Rowdy Tellez would finally get to him in the seventh, launching a solo homer to break the scoreless game. The 23-year-old right-hander has produced a 2.84 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 42/11 K/BB ratio across 50 2/3 innings. He’ll take on the Athletics in Minnesota on Thursday. Rotoworld Today, 3:58 pm
  • Wilson picks up first save Saturday
Justin Wilson picked up the save against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: The save was Wilson’s first of the year. With Alexis Diaz unavailable after picking up his 13th save on Friday, Lucas Sims started the ninth inning. Wilson came in with two men on and one out and escaped with the save. Outside of the occasional save, Wilson doesn’t have much fantasy value. Rotoworld Today, 3:55 pm

  • Brown allows three runs in four innings Saturday
Ben Brown allowed three runs in four innings and took the loss against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Brown gave up three hits, walked one and struck out three. He allowed five runs in his last start, which was also against the Reds. Brown has completed five innings in only three of his eight starts for the Cubs this year. He’s still looking for his first win as a starting pitcher. Outside of his performance on May 28th against the Brewers when he went seven innings, allowed no runs and recorded 10 strikeouts, Brown’s been fairly pedestrian when starting. The 24-year-old right-hander is tentatively scheduled to face the Cardinals at home next week.

  • Spencer Howard pitches well in no-decision
Spencer Howard allowed one run with two strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Howard made his first start of the season after following an opener in his last two outings. He pitched well, holding the Rangers to one run. Howard walked two batters in the first inning before Nathanial Lowe brought a run in on a sacrifice fly. Howard would pitch into the fifth, leaving at 74 pitches with one runner on and two outs as he fell just short of qualifying for the win. The 27-year-old right-hander has a 2.03 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 9/3 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings. He’s in line to pitch, either starting or following an opener, against Angels in San Francisco on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 3:48 pm
  • Andrew Heaney allows three runs in loss to Giants
Andrew Heaney allowed three runs with four strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: Two hard hits by Heliot Ramos did all the damage against Heaney on Saturday. After walking a batter in the first inning, Ramos doubled to put the Giants on the board. Ramos got to Heaney once again in the third with a two-run homer. Heaney tossed two more scoreless frames, leaving with two outs in the sixth. He struck out five. The 33-year-old left-hander will take a 4.06 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 58/15 K/BB ratio across 62 innings into a start against the Mariners in Seattle on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 3:47 pm
