• Losing out on playing time
Nevin is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Nevin seems to have lost hold of an everyday role in the Oakland outfield; he's now been on the bench in five consecutive matchups versus right-handed pitching. The 26-year-old should at least continue to see regular starts against left-handed pitching as a platoon mate for the lefty-hitting Seth Brown. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:02 am

  • Gaining foothold in lineup
Goodman will serve as the Rockies' designated hitter and No. 7 batter in Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Goodman will make his fourth start in five games -- and his third at DH -- after going 4-for-12 with two doubles, an RBI, a run and a stolen base across his prior three contests. His inclusion in the lineup Thursday comes while the Rockies are resting four key regulars (Kris Bryant, Charlie Blackmon, Elias Diaz and Brendan Rodgers), but Goodman's recent usage suggests that he'll be a priority in the lineup over Elehuris Montero, who didn't start either of the past two days following Bryant's return from the injured list. • Four hits including first homer
Arraez went 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: The 27-year-old led off the game with his first homer of the season as he produced his seventh straight multi-hit performance. Arraez has been raking since being traded to the Padres, slashing .391/.425/.478 in 73 plate appearances, and with Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) facing a lengthy absence, he should be locked in as San Diego's everyday second baseman. • Luis Arraez blasts first home run to power Padres
Luis Arraez blasted his first home run of the 2024 season on Wednesday, powering the Padres to a 7-3 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati.

Advice: Arraez started off the game with a bang on Wednesday, crushing a leadoff 374-foot (96.5 mph EV) blast off of Nick Martinez to give the Padres an early 1-0 lead. He also singled in the third inning and smacked a run-scoring single off of Brent Suter in the sixth inning that extended the Padres’ lead to 7-1. He tacked on another single in the ninth inning just for good measure. With his four-hit attack, the 27-year-old is now slashing .330/.373/.408 with a homer and 11 RBI. • Jeimer Candelario goes deep in loss to Padres
Jeimer Candelario slugged his fifth home run of the season on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to power the Reds past the Padres.

Advice: Candelario got the Reds on the board in the home half of the first inning with a 387-foot (104.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Michael King. He also smacked a two-out single in the sixth inning and scored on a two-run double by Tyler Stephenson. He finished the night 2-for-4 and is now hitting .223/.289/.401 with five long balls and 18 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:54 pm

  • Sitting against southpaw
Busch is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: With a tough southpaw in Max Fried on the mound for Atlanta, the lefty-hitting Busch will retreat to the bench. Patrick Wisdom will replace Busch at first base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:43 pm

  • Sitting versus southpaw
Brown is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Brown hasn't started against a left-handed pitcher all season, and that trend will continue Wednesday as Austin Gomber takes the mound for Colorado. Tyler Nevin will take over in right field and bat seventh. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:46 pm

  • Homers Wednesday
Meneses went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Meneses made things interesting in the ninth inning Wednesday, launching a solo shot off Jhoan Duran to lead off the frame. The 32-year-old Meneses had gotten off to a slow start this year, though he's now 6-for-17 with a pair of extra-base hits in his last three contests. Overall, he's slashing .234/.299/.299 with two homers, 24 RBI and nine runs scored through 43 games on the campaign. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:35 pm

  • Joey Meneses goes 2-for-4, homers in ninth
Joey Meneses went 2-for-4 and homered against the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer brought the Nationals to within one run against Jhoan Durán in the ninth. Meneses wound up 5-for-12 with a couple of extra-base hits in the series against the Twins. That probably doesn’t quite rate as a hot streak just yet, but his current .598 OPS puts him at his high mark since late April. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:36 pm
