• Belts first career homer
Schneemann went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Sunday's loss to Toronto.

Advice: Schneemann took Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios deep in the sixth inning to record his first big-league home run. The rookie third-baseman has more than held his own since making his MLB debut June 2, slashing .375/.483/.667 with one home run, five RBI and four runs scored across 29 plate appearances. • Brett Wisely doubles twice, drives in three
Brett Wisely doubled twice and knocked in three runs from the leadoff spot Sunday versus the Angels.

Advice: Wisely has been one of the Giants’ best players when in the lineup, though oddly enough, he’s been much more successful in very limited action in lefty-lefty matchups (1.501 OPS in 16 PA) than versus righties (.592 OPS in 53 PA). Of course, he’s only really playing against righties. His .807 OPS overall demands that he remain in the lineup most of the time for now, whether it’s at the expense of Nick Ahmed or Thairo Estrada. • Jose Altuve powers Astros past Tigers on Sunday
Jose Altuve blasted a three-run homer in the second inning on Sunday, powering the Astros to a 4-1 victory over the Tigers in their series finale in Houston.

Advice: The Astros scratched out a run in the opening inning as Altuve singled, took second on a wild pitch and raced around to score on a single off the bat of Yordan Alvarez. He then clobbered a game-changing 402-foot (101.9 mph EV) three-run shot off of Kenta Maeda with two outs in the second inning that proved to be the difference in the ballgame. Altuve finished the afternoon 2-for-3 plus a walk and a stolen base and is now slashing a healthy .299/.350/.460 on the season to go along with 11 homers, 29 RBI and 10 stolen bases on the season. • Andy Ibanez smacks RBI double in loss to Astros
Andy Ibanez smacked a pinch-hit RBI double in the ninth inning on Sunday, accounting for the Tigers’ lone run in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Ibanez did what he does best — mash left-handed pitching — crushing an RBI double off of Josh Hader that plated Mark Canha from first base with the Tigers’ first run in the ballgame. On the season, the 31-year-old infielder is now slashing .274/.304/.400 with a pair of homers, 16 RBI and a stolen base in 102 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:48 pm

  • Suffers wrist contusion
Rengifo suffered a left wrist contusion in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Giants, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. He went 1-for-2 with a run scored prior to his departure.

Advice: Rengifo took a line drive single from Matt Chapman off his left arm in the bottom of the fourth inning while playing third base, exiting the contest thereafter. The 27-year-old underwent X-rays, which showed just a contusion, and he said that he expects to play Monday against the Brewers. Rengifo can be considered day-to-day for the time being. Luis Rengifo (wrist) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he expects to play on Monday.

Advice: Rengifo was pulled from Sunday’s game after being drilled in the wrist by a ball off the bat of Matt Chapman. He did undergo precautionary X-rays that ruled out any fractures though and was diagnosed with a left wrist contusion. • Suffers hand fracture
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Betts fractured a bone in his left wrist in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Royals and will be out 'for some time," Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. He went

Advice: Betts went hitless in three at-bats before he exited the game in the seventh inning, when he went down in a heap of pain after taking a fastball off his wrist. On the bright side, Roberts said that the 31-year-old shortstop won't need surgery to repair the injury. Betts will likely be placed on the injured list Monday, and in his absence, Miguel Rojas could step into a starting role in the middle infield for Los Angeles. Rotowire.com Today, 4:01 pm

  • Miguel Vargas expected to join Dodgers in Colorado
Miguel Vargas is expected to join the Dodgers in Colorado on Monday with Mookie Betts (hand) landing on the injured list.

Advice: Vargas was just optioned to Triple-A on Wednesday, but he’ll head right back with Betts heading to the injured list. Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts said that Miguel Rojas and Enrique Hernandez are likely to see the bulk of the action at shortstop with Betts sidelined, but that Vargas will fill a role on the team’s bench. However, if he gets a chance and starts to hit, it’s going to be hard for Roberts to keep Vargas’ bat out of the lineup. Rotoworld Today, 4:00 pm

  • Mookie Betts diagnosed with fractured left hand
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters after Sunday’s game that Mookie Betts has been diagnosed with a fractured left hand.

Advice: The unfortunate injury occurred when he was hit by a 98 mph fastball during Sunday’s game against the Royals. Roberts relayed that while the injury will not require surgery, it will take time to heal. He wouldn’t elaborate on that timetable, other than to say that the injury will not end his 2024 season. Expect Miguel Rojas to see increased action at shortstop while the 31-year-old superstar is shelved. Rotoworld Today, 3:45 pm
