    • Slated for sim game Tuesday
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Gallen (hamstring) threw a 37-pitch bullpen Friday, and the right-hander is slated to throw a sim game Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Gallen threw from the mound for the second time since landing on the injured list May 31 due to a right hamstring strain. It's another step in the right direction for the 28-year-old, who before the injury registered a 3.12 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 57.2 innings. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

    • Zac Gallen to throw simulated game on Tuesday
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters on Friday that right-hander Zac Gallen (hamstring) will pitch in a simulated game on Tuesday.

Advice: The 28-year-old hurler is slated for three innings or around 45 pitches in the session. After that, he’ll likely need another simulated game — or perhaps a minor league rehab start — before he’s ready to return to the Diamondbacks’ rotation. Gallen has been sidelined since the end of May due to a right hamstring strain. Rotoworld Today, 3:27 pm

    • Rockies place Elias Díaz (calf) on 10-day IL
Rockies placed C Elias Díaz on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 11, with a left calf strain.

Advice: The 33-year-old backstop tried to take things on a day-to-day basis, but ultimately the Rockies thought that it would be better to sit him down for an extended period of time to allow him to fully heal. Nolan Jones was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 2:59 pm

    • Lands on IL with calf strain
The Rockies placed Diaz on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left calf strain, retroactive to June 11.

Advice: Diaz was removed in the bottom half of the first inning of Monday's game against the Twins after straining his left calf while running out of the batter's box to first base. He was held out for the rest of the series against Minnesota with the hope he would be available for the weekend series against Pittsburgh, but the 33-year-old catcher will be on the shelf for an extended period of time. Jacob Stallings got the start for Diaz over the last two games of the series against the Twins, and the former figures to get most of the starts behind home plate in the latter's absence, though Hunter Goodman will provide some depth and will start at catcher for Saturday's game, per Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com. • Could return Saturday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Friday that it's a "possibility" Marsh (hamstring) is activated from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Marsh will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Reading on Friday and it sounds like that could be the only rehab game he needs if he comes out of it well. The outfielder has been sidelined since early June with a strained right hamstring. Rotowire.com Today, 1:51 pm

    • On bench against southpaw
Lowe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: With the Rays facing a left-handed pitcher for the second consecutive night, Lowe will be held out of the starting lineup once again Friday. Jonny DeLuca will draw another start in right field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:48 pm

    • Brandon Marsh (hamstring) could return on Saturday
Phillies’ manager Rob Thomson told reporters on Friday that there’s a chance Brandon Marsh (hamstring) could return on Saturday.

Advice: They’ll wait and see how he feels after Friday’s minor league rehab game at Double-A Reading, but it sounds like his return is imminent. Marsh has been sidelined since early June due to a right hamstring strain. Rotoworld Today, 1:46 pm

    • Starting rehab assignment Sunday
Kremer (triceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Kremer is slated to throw around four innings in what will be his first outing since he landed on the 15-day injured list three weeks ago with a right triceps strain. It could be the only rehab start he needs before rejoining the Orioles' rotation. If that's the case, he would be set up to start next weekend in Houston. Rotowire.com Today, 1:33 pm

    • Dean Kremer to make rehab start on Sunday
Dean Kremer (triceps) will make a minor league rehab start at Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

Advice: Orioles’ manager Brandon Hyde told reporters on Friday that Kremer will work around four innings in that outing. It’s likely that he’ll need a second rehab start after that one before he’s ready to return to the Orioles’ rotation. In the meantime, it should give Cade Povich at least another week to establish himself in the O’s rotation. Rotoworld Today, 1:25 pm
