    • Poor showing Monday
Cecconi (1-4) took the loss Monday versus the Dodgers, allowing six runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings.

Advice: Cecconi was partially sheltered Monday by pitching behind opener Joe Mantiply to avoid the top of the Dodgers' order at the start of the game. That proved to be a wise choice, though it ultimately didn't pay off, as Freddie Freeman's grand slam in the third inning off Cecconi was the decisive hit of the game. This is the third time in four outings Cecconi has given up six runs, and the second time this year he's allowed multiple homers -- he also gave up solo shots to Enrique Hernandez and Will Smith. Cecconi has a 6.12 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 22:8 K:BB over 32.1 innings across six appearances (five starts). He's projected for a much easier home matchup versus the Marlins his next time out. • Launches third homer
Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hernandez has homered twice in his last six games, though both have been solo shots as well as his only RBI in that span. The utility man is slashing just .216/.287/.320 with three homers, eight RBI, seven runs scored and no stolen bases over 108 plate appearances this season. Hernandez has started five straight games at third base since Max Muncy (oblique) exited the lineup, so it appears Hernandez has a path to steady playing time for now. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

    • Nabs third save
Hudson struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Monday's 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hudson is on a five-inning scoreless streak dating back to his May 8 save versus the Marlins. He's served as the Dodgers' top closing option since Evan Phillips (hamstring) went on the injured list earlier in May, though save chances have been sparse. Hudson has two saves since Phillips was hurt, and J.P. Feyereisen, who was reassigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City over the weekend, is the only other reliever to pick up a save in that span. For the season, Hudson is at a 2.70 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 22:1 K:BB with three saves and eight holds over 20 innings. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago
    • Goes yard in win
Schanuel went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 9-7 win over the Astros.

Advice: Schanuel's three-run blast in the fifth inning sparked a big rally from the Angels. Entering Monday, the first baseman had gone 0-for-11 over his last three games. He's up to five homers, 18 RBI, 15 runs scored, three doubles and a .232/.306/.351 slash line through 172 plate appearances this season. Schanuel is not being strictly platooned, but he's not an everyday player at first base, though he is seeing a majority of the reps there. Rotowire.com Today, 10:23 pm

    • Daniel Hudson works perfect ninth for save
Daniel Hudson pitched a perfect ninth for his third save Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hudson fanned two of the three batters he faced against his former team. He’ll likely resume working in a setup role once Evan Phillips rejoins the Dodgers next week, but until then, he’s a worthy play in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 10:23 pm
    • Slade Cecconi gives up six runs in bulk role
After taking over for opener Joe Mantiply, Slade Cecconi gave up six runs in five innings Monday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Mantiply did his part in the first and Cecconi kept it going with a scoreless second, but he went on to five up three homers in the third inning. It was impressive how Cecconi rebounded with three scoreless innings afterwards, but the damage was done. Cecconi is now 1-4 with a 6.12 ERA, and his rotation spot appears to be in jeopardy. • Jake McCarthy goes 2-for-4, homers in loss
Jake McCarthy went 2-for-4 and hit his second homer against the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: McCarthy’s homer was hit 106.6 mph off Eliezer Hernández, edging out his previous season high. He’s off to a pretty encouraging start offensively, hitting .283/.357/.414 in 114 plate appearances. Unfortunately, he hasn’t delivered in the stolen base department, collecting just three in 40 games, and there just isn’t much reason to think he’ll remain a factor once Alek Thomas is healthy. • Powers offense in win
Siani went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and one stolen base in Monday's 6-3 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Siani hit an RBI single in the second inning and then hit his first big-league homer in the fourth, a three-run blast off Dean Kremer. The long ball was Siani's first extra-base hit since a double May 12 versus the Brewers. The outfielder is batting .341 (14-for-41) over 16 contests in May, though he's still at a mediocre .238 average and .611 OPS through 93 plate appearances on the year. He's added six RBI, 13 runs scored and five steals. Rotowire.com Today, 9:59 pm

    • Latches on with San Francisco
Sands signed a minor-league contract with the Giants.

Advice: Sands was released by Detroit on March 26, but he's since found a new home in San Francisco. He made his debut for Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, going 0-for-5 with an RBI and three strikeouts. Rotowire.com Today, 9:14 pm
