      Zac Gallen was removed from Thursday’s start against the Mets with a right hamstring strain.

      Advice: Gallen will presumably head for some additional imaging the determine the severity of the injury and determine how much time he’ll wind up missing. The 28-year-old righty lasted just six pitches into Thursday’s outing at Citi Field before leaving with a trainer. He’s a near-lock to wind up requiring a trip to the injured list and will most likely wind up missing a couple weeks. It’s a tough break for the Diamondbacks, and fantasy managers, since Gallen has been one of the most durable starters in the fantasy landscape over the last few years.       Mason Miller blew the save against the Rays on Thursday.



      Advice: Miller entered the ninth inning with a 4-3 lead and allowed a solo home run to Jose Siri. It was his first blown save of the season. Miller had basically been untouchable all season as he converted his first 11 saves. His ERA is now 2.08 on the year. Miller remains one of the most dominant relievers in all of baseball and would likely remain in a closing role if traded to a contender later this year.

      Gil (7-1) picked up the win Wednesday over the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out nine over eight frames.

      Advice: Gil continued his fantastic start to the campaign Wednesday, allowing just one hit over the first six innings before surrendering a solo home run to Logan O'Hoppe in the seventh. The right-hander produced 15 whiffs on the night while posting at least eight strikeouts for the third consecutive outing. Gil has now logged six quality starts in a row and improved to 6-0 in May after the win over Los Angeles. Over that stretch, he carries a ridiculous 0.70 ERA to go along with a 44:12 K:BB.     • Luis Gil dominant again in win over Angels
      Luis Gil held the Angels to one run with nine strikeouts over eight innings to earn the win on Wednesday.

      Advice: Gil was outstanding once again, holding the Angels to one run over eight frames. He allowed just two hits and two walks, giving up a solo homer to Logan O’Hoppe in the seventh inning. He struck out nine. It was the fifth consecutive start for Gil with at least six innings and no more than one run allowed. The 25-year-old right-hander will take an excellent 1.99 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and a 79/31 K/BB ratio across 63 1/3 innings into a start against the Twins in New York on Tuesday.       Lopez won't start Thursday's game against the Nationals, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Lopez pitched on four days of rest for the second time all season Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings -- his shortest start of the season. Rather than sending him to the mound after a traditional four-day rest period again, Atlanta will push his next start back and give the ball to Ray Kerr to close out its current series against Washington. The team hasn't yet announced when Lopez's next start will come, though it's possible he simply moves back a day to start Friday's series opener against the Athletics.       Bassitt (neck) is listed as Toronto's probable starter for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

      Advice: The veteran right-hander made an early exit from his start Monday against the White Sox after pitching through neck spasms for five scoreless innings.
