    • Takes seat against lefty
Pederson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Pederson will head to the bench while southpaw Andrew Abbott toes the rubber for Cincinnati. Blaze Alexander will fill in for Pederson as Arizona's designated hitter. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago

    • Gets fourth straight start
Chourio will start in left field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Chourio was on the bench for a stretch of four straight games from last Wednesday through Saturday, but he's now picked up starts in each of the subsequent four contests. Though he's reached base only twice over his last nine contests and carries a weak .579 OPS for the season into Wednesday's game, Chourio could nonetheless continue to see near-everyday playing time while Jake Bauers sees less time in the corner outfield and fills in at first base for the injured Rhys Hoskins (hamstring). Additionally, the struggling Blake Perkins -- who sat against right-handed starting pitchers both of the previous two days -- seems to have moved into more of a fourth-outfielder role of late. • Productive as leadoff hitter
Pham went 3-for-7 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Advice: Pham has served as the White Sox's leadoff hitter for seven straight games, and he's hit .346 with two runs scored, four RBI and a stolen base in that span. He's lacked power -- he has five extra-base hits across 70 plate appearances -- but has otherwise contributed a well-rounded fantasy line since joining Chicago on April 26. • Ronel Blanco plans to appeal 10-game suspension
Ronel Blanco told reporters late Tuesday that he plans to appeal his automatic 10-game suspension.

Advice: Blanco was ejected by third base umpire Laz Diaz during Tuesday’s start against the Athletics, and his glove was confiscated, following a foreign substance check at the outset of the fourth inning. Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters afterwards that Blanco had a mixture of rosin and sweat on his glove hand, which is illegal under league rules. The 30-year-old righty has denied using an illegal substance, but is still facing an automatic 10-game suspension under league rules, which he plans to appeal. There should be a resolution on the matter at some point later this week. Rotoworld Today, 3:20 am

    • Ryan Helsey records 13th save in win over Angels
Ryan Helsley recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Angels on Tuesday.

Advice: Helsley pitched a whole lot during April, but it definitely hasn’t caused any problems yet; he’s posted his best velocity numbers of the year his last two times out, averaging 101.0 mph with his fastball on Sunday and 100.7 mph tonight. He’s gone 14 straight appearances without allowing an earned run and the one unearned run he’s given up during the stretch was an automatic runner in the 10th inning. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm
    • Earns save No. 13
Helsley allowed a hit and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Helsley has a win and six saves during his nine-inning scoreless streak, a span that's seen him allowed six hits and one walk while striking out 11. The right-hander is 13-for-14 in save chances this season with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:2 K:BB over 20 innings. Helsley seems to be benefiting from being the stand-alone closer as opposed to part of a committee. His career high in saves is 19 in 2022, a mark he should be able to shatter as long as he doesn't add to his lengthy injury history. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm
    • Strong until late homer
Gilbert (3-2) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over 6.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Royals.

Advice: Gilbert gave up just four baserunners over the first six innings. He went back out for the seventh, but two walks and a Nelson Velazquez home run ended his outing in unfortunate fashion. It's a significant improvement on the eight-run fiasco he had in Minnesota in his last start, but it's still a second straight loss for 27-year-old. He's pitched to a 3.07 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 61:18 K:BB over 58.2 innings over nine starts this season. Gilbert is projected for a tough road start versus the Yankees his next time out. • Earns win over Mariners
Wacha (3-4) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Mariners.

Advice: Wacha limited the damage to a Luke Raley solo home run in the fourth inning. This was Wacha's second quality start in a row and his fourth in nine outings this year. He's also walked multiple batters in five of his starts, but he's given up a reasonable five homers. The right-hander has a 4.71 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 44:17 K:BB through 49.2 innings. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:52 pm
    • Michael Wacha goes six in defeating Mariners
Michael Wacha pitched six innings of one-run ball in a victory over the Mariners on Tuesday.

Advice: Wacha allowed three hits, walked two and struck out seven in improving to 3-4 with a 4.71 ERA. He’s far from one of our favorite picks, but he has a two-start week against the Tigers and Rays coming up, making him somewhat appealing. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:25 pm
