    • Leaves game after collision
Rizzo (undisclosed) exited Sunday's contest against the Red Sox in the top of the seventh inning, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Rizzo collided with Red Sox pitcher Brennan Bernardino while trying to leg out a hit, landing on his right hand/wrist. Oswaldo Cabrera replaced him in the game and more information on Rizzo's status will likely come following the conclusion of the contest. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago
    • Anthony Rizzo leaves game with right wrist injury
Anthony Rizzo was removed from Sunday night’s game against the Red Sox in the seventh inning after suffering a right wrist injury in a collision at first base.

Advice: Rizzo collided with Red Sox left-hander Brennan Bernardino who was attempting to cover first base on a throw from Dominic Smith. Rizzo went to the ground and braced his fall with his right hand, which seemed to have caused the injury. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any potential fractures. Stay tuned. • Earns league-leading 24th save
Helsley allowed two walks during a scoreless ninth to pick up the save Sunday against the Cubs. He struck out one.

Advice: Helsley tossed just 11 of 23 pitches for strikes and started behind in the count to four of five batters faced but still managed to finish off the game for the Cardinals when a drive to the gap by pinch-hitter Patrick Wisdom with two on was snagged by Brendan Donovan to preserve the win. It was another shaky outing for Helsley who has struggled recently with his command, walking four over his last two appearances. Despite the recent trouble, he maintains an ERA of 2.53 and has converted on each of his last 24 save opportunities, last blowing a save on March 30 during his first appearance of the season. • Could start Wednesday or Thursday
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Sunday that Verlander (neck) could pitch either Wednesday or Thursday against the White Sox in Houston, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Manager Joe Espada suggested earlier in the day that Verlander could rejoin the rotation for the Chicago series, and Brown's comments help further narrow down a potential return date for the 41-year-old righty. Verlander was unable to make his scheduled start Saturday versus the Tigers after experiencing neck discomfort during his bullpen session Wednesday, prompting the Astros to push both Spencer Arrighetti and Ronel Blanco ahead in the pitching schedule. The extra rest appears to have done Verlander some good, as he was able to play catch prior to Sunday's series finale with Detroit. He'll likely try to throw another bullpen session Monday or Tuesday before the Astros lock him for a start against the White Sox. Rotowire.com Today, 5:18 pm

    • Jordan Montgomery fans seven in win over White Sox
Jordan Montgomery looked sharp in Sunday’s victory over the White Sox, allowing just an unearned run on four hits over his five frames.

Advice: Montgomery piled up seven strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing a pair of free passes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI groundout off the bat of Andrew Vaughn in the third inning — after a throwing error by Montgomery had allowed him to advance earlier in the inning. The 31-year-old southpaw got a whopping 18 swings and misses on 84 pitches in the game — 10 of those on his changeup alone — while posting a strong CSW of 36 percent. Now 5-4 on the season, he’ll carry a 6.00 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and a 39/21 K/BB ratio (57 innings) into a tough matchup against the Phillies in Philadelphia on Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 5:16 pm
    • Ronel Blanco fires seven no-hit innings in victory
Ronel Blanco delivered a dazzling performance in Sunday afternoon’s victory over the Tigers, firing seven innings of no-hit baseball.

Advice: The 30-year-old hurler racked up eight strikeouts in the contest while issuing three free passes. He carried a bid for a perfect game into the fifth inning where he issued a two-out walk to Gio Urshela. He then walked Akil Baddoo and Carson Kelly to load the bases before getting Zack McKinstry to fly out to end the threat. Those would be the Tigers’ only base runners against him. Blanco got 15 swings and misses on 94 pitches on the day — eight of those on his changeup — while registering an elite CSW of 41 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine effort as he totes a 7-2 record, 2.43 ERA and 0.97 WHIP into Sunday’s showdown against the Orioles. Rotoworld Today, 4:52 pm

    • Fans seven in win
Montgomery (5-4) picked up the win Sunday against the White Sox, allowing one unearned run on four hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Sunday's start was Montgomery's best as a Diamondback, tying his season high in strikeouts while yielding no earned runs for the first time this year. The lone run scored while Montgomery was on the mound came in the third inning, when Danny Mendick came around to score after reaching on a throwing error by Montgomery. Montgomery has had a rollercoaster 2024 season, surrendering three or fewer runs in seven of his 11 appearances but giving up six or more runs three times. Overall, the 31-year-old owns a 6.00 ERA with a 39:21 K:BB across 57.0 innings. He's on track to face the Phillies next weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 4:43 pm
    • Suffers wrist contusion
Rengifo suffered a left wrist contusion in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Giants, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Rengifo took a line drive single from Matt Chapman off his left arm in the bottom of the fourth inning while playing third base, exiting the contest thereafter. The 27-year-old underwent X-rays, which showed just a contusion, and he said that he expects to play Monday against the Brewers. Rengifo can be considered day-to-day for the time being. • Logan Gilbert dominates Rangers in 5-0 game
Logan Gilbert allowed two hits and walked none over eight innings in the Mariners’ 5-0 shutout of the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: Gilbert recorded 21 whiffs and nine strikeouts in one of the best outings of his still rather young career. He’s 12-for-15 giving the Mariners quality starts this year, which would seem to warrant better than 4-4 record. His 2.93 ERA ranks 15th in the majors, but his 0.92 WHIP places fifth.
