    • Corbin Burnes solid for six in downing White Sox
Corbin Burnes allowed three runs over six innings Friday in a no-decision against the White Sox.

Advice: He struck out six and walked two. This season has not seen Burnes at his absolute best, but neither has he faltered at any point; he still hasn’t allowed more than three runs or pitched fewer than five innings in any of his 11 starts. His next turn will come against the Red Sox. It’s the only team he’s completed seven innings against this year, doing so in a 7-1 victory on Apr. 9. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago
    • Set for rehab assignment
Kwan (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Lake County on Saturday.

Advice: Kwan is scheduled to play both Saturday and Sunday. It's not clear if he'll be moved up to another affiliate following those games, but it seems Kwan has a good chance to beat the four-week projection he was given when he went on the injured list May 6. The Guardians' current road trip features a three-game series from Monday to Wednesday at Colorado before they come home for six games beginning Friday. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Picks up 11th save
Foley set down the lone batter he faced to pick up the save in Friday's 6-2 win over Toronto.

Advice: Andrew Chafin recorded the first two outs in the ninth inning before allowing four consecutive base hits, allowing the Blue Jays to get the tying run to the plate. However, Foley would come on in relief to set down Danny Jansen for the final out, earning his 11th save this season. While the Tigers don't have a clear ninth-inning hierarchy, Foley still appears to be the best bet for saves in Detroit. His ERA is down to 2.41 on the year with a 1.34 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB across 18.2 innings. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago
    • Goes deep again Friday
Bleday went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and three total runs scored in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Bleday has found his swing with a homer in three straight games and a hitting streak up to seven contests. During the hitting streak, he's gone 9-for-33 (.273) with eight extra-base hits. The outfielder is slashing .247/.317/.478 with eight homers, 22 RBI, 21 runs scored, 15 doubles, two triples and no stolen bases over 206 plate appearances this season. Bleday's held a starting role all season, and that's not going to change while he's swinging a hot bat. Rotowire.com Today, 10:20 pm

    • JJ Bleday stays hot with homer, but Athletics lose
JJ Bleday homered and scored three runs in a loss Friday to the Athletics.

Advice: Bleday has now homered in three straight games, and this one was a solo shot off Justin Verlander to give him eight on the season. The 26-year-old has shown some flashes in 2024 of why he was the fourth pick of the 2019 MLB Draft, but his lack of success prior to this season — and really this month — is reason to give pause in terms of making him a fantasy addition. • Yields three runs
Burnes allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out six during the win over the White Sox.

Advice: Burnes fired four shutout frames before the White Sox finally broke through with a three-run fifth innings. He forced 14 whiffs and has produced double-digit swinging strikes in eight of his 11 starts this season. The 29-year-old right has allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his 11 outings, resulting in an impressive 2.60 ERA through 65.2 innings. Burnes will take a 66:17 K:BB into his next outing, which is lined up at home against Boston. Rotowire.com Today, 8:33 pm
    • Steven Kwan to start rehab assignment on Saturday
Steven Kwan (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Single-A Lake County on Saturday.

Advice: He’ll play two games there over the weekend, then if all goes well he’ll join the Guardians for Monday’s series opener against the Rockies in Colorado. Kwan has been sidelined since May 4 due to a left hamstring strain. Rotoworld Today, 7:10 pm

    • Ronald Acuña Jr. homers in loss
Ronald Acuña Jr. went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run on Friday in a loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Acuña sent Bailey Falter packing in the eighth inning, but only cut the Pirates lead to 11-3. The full season line remains a disappointment, but his OPS has trickled up to .712 which is in the same range as teammates Ozzie Albies and Matt Olson. Rotoworld Today, 6:40 pm
    • Not in Friday's lineup
Cowser is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Cowser started the previous 15 games but will head to the bench after he posted a .224/.350/.306 slash line during that stretch. Austin Hays will take over in left field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:46 pm
