    • Chris Sale strikes out seven in win
Chris Sale allowed two earned runs across seven innings in a 7-3 win over the Rays on Friday. He struck out seven and walked two.

Advice: Sale was his usual emotional and demonstrative self on the mound even after being handed a huge lead early and that intensity carried him to another great start. This was the fifth time in six starts Sale completed seven innings and the eighth time he’s done so already this season. He’s been one of the most valuable pitchers in baseball this season, stepping into the ace role for Atlanta without Spencer Strider. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Zack Littell allows seven runs in two innings
Zack Littell imploded on Friday giving up six earned runs in just two innings against the Braves. He struck out two, walked one, and took the loss.

Advice: Littell unraveled in the first inning as the first five Braves that came to the plate got a hit with four going for extra bases. Then, he committed a shockingly bad throwing error on a swinging bunt by Adam Duvall and was yanked after the second inning. His ERA rose from 3.63 to 4.24 in this disastrous start. • Falls to Giants
Valdez (5-4) took the loss Wednesday against San Francisco, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out one.

Advice: It was a tough day for Valdez, who allowed two runs in the third inning before the Giants scored three more in the fourth. The 30-year-old Valdez had allowed just five runs in three starts (22 innings) coming into Wednesday's matchup. The left-hander now sports a 3.99 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB across 67.2 innings this year. Valdez will look to rebound in his next outing, currently scheduled for early next week on the road versus the White Sox. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:21 pm

    • Framber Valdez gets early hook in loss to Giants
Framber Valdez was shelled for five runs over four innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Giants.

Advice: On the heels of a complete-game effort his last time out, Valdez was pulled in this one after just 59 pitches (37 strikes) following four frames. Houston’s ace wasn’t particularly effective in this one as the Giants tagged him for eight hits over four frames. He finished with just one strikeout and only handed out one free pass. He’ll bring a solid 3.99 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 51/19 K/BB ratio across 67 2/3 innings (11 starts) into a favorable road tilt on Wednesday against the floundering White Sox. • Next rehab start set
Williams (elbow) will make his next rehab start Saturday and is expected to throw about four innings and 65 pitches, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Williams covered three frames during his third rehab outing Sunday and will continue building up his workload this weekend. The right-hander could require another start in the minors after that before joining the Guardians, but he should be ready for his season debut in the majors before the end of June. • Gavin Williams to make another rehab start Saturday
Guardians manager Stephen Vogt told reporters Gavin Williams (elbow) will make another minor league rehab start on Saturday.

Advice: Williams continues to build up his pitch count and stamina as he progresses towards his season debut. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect has been on the shelf since spring training due to a lingering right elbow issue. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:08 pm

    • Dylan Cease strikes out eight in win over A’s
Dylan Cease won for the first time in a month after holding the A’s to one run in six innings on Monday.

Advice: Cease surrendered eight hits, but only Tyler Soderstrom’s homer in the second did any damage. He struck out eight and walked one in moving to 6-5 with a 3.36 ERA. The eight strikeouts gave him 101 for the season, making him the third pitcher this year, after Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet, to reach the century mark. Rotoworld Monday, 11:31 pm
    • Splendid in victory Monday
Cease (6-5) earned the win over Oakland on Monday, allowing one run on eight hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Advice: Cease surrendered a solo homer to Tyler Soderstrom in the second inning, but that was the only run the A's managed to score against him. The right-handed hurler racked up 15 whiffs among his 104 pitches and gave up fewer than three runs for the first time since May 8. Cease entered Monday with a 5.86 ERA over his previous five starts, and he went 0-3 during that span. However, he still holds a solid 3.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 101:23 K:BB over 83 innings on the season. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:23 pm
    • Notches seventh win
Burnes (7-2) earned the win Monday against the Rays, allowing two unearned runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Burnes dazzled in the series finale, shutting down Tampa Bay to collect his ninth consecutive quality start and 11th overall. The only blemish on the 29-year-old's evening was a two-run homer yielded to Alex Jackson that drove in a pair of unearned runs. Overall, Burnes now sports a 2.08 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 82:22 K:BB in 86.2 innings while being tied for the league lead in quality starts. The Baltimore ace is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Phillies at home this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:36 pm
