    • Back in San Diego lineup
Profar (knee) will start in left field and bat third in Friday's game versus the Mets.

Advice: Profar exited Tuesday and sat out Wednesday due to left patellar tendinitis, which is something he's evidently dealt with off and on for years. However, he worked out pregame Friday following Thursday's team off day and is feeling well enough to give it a go. Rotowire.com Today, 1:19 pm
    • Jurickson Profar (knee) returns to lineup Friday
Jurickson Profar (knee) returned to the Padres’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Mets.

Advice: Profar suffered a non-contact knee injury on a swing during Tuesday’s game and sat out on Wednesday as a precautionary measure, but he’s right back in his customary third spot in the Padres’ lineup and starting in left field on Friday night. He has been one of the biggest surprises of the first half of the season this year — slashing a robust .324/.424/.500 with 10 homers, 45 RBI and four stolen bases in 284 plate appearances. • Takes seat Friday
Cowser is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Left-hander Ranger Suarez is drawing the start for the Phillies, so the lefty-hitting Cowser will begin this one on the bench. The Orioles are going with Austin Hays in left field and Cedric Mullins in center Friday. Rotowire.com Today, 11:59 am
    • Not starting against southpaw
Raley isn't in the Mariners' lineup Thursday against the White Sox.

Advice: The left-handed bat of Raley will stay put in the dugout Thursday as southpaw Garrett Crochet toes the slab for Chicago. Victor Robles will fill the opening in left field while batting seventh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Cleared for rehab assignment
Jimenez (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League White Sox on Thursday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Jimenez has been on the shelf for just over three weeks with a left hamstring strain and is now ready to test himself in a game setting. The White Sox haven't revealed how many rehab games the designated hitter might require, but a return from the 10-day injured list next week would seem to be on the table. • Eloy Jiménez (hamstring) starts rehab assignment
Eloy Jiménez (hamstring) started a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Advice: Jiménez has been snake-bitten by injuries this season and is working his way back from a mid-May left hamstring strain after missing a couple weeks earlier in the year with a groin issue. The 27-year-old slugger should be ready to return to Chicago before the end of the month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:19 pm

    • Randy Arozarena (hamstring) rejoins Rays lineup
Randy Arozarena (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Cubs.

Advice: Arozarena is playing left field and batting second against the Cubs after being held out of the lineup for the last two games of the series due to right hamstring tightness. He was able to pinch-hit each of the last two nights and remained in to play left field last night. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:54 pm

    • Returns to Tampa Bay lineup
Arozarena (hamstring) will start in left field and bat second in Thursday's game versus the Cubs.

Advice: Arozarena missed the previous two contests with right hamstring tightness but is feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. The 29-year-old will bring a disappointing .599 OPS into play Thursday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:19 pm

    • Homers off bench Wednesday
Cowser hit a two-run home run in his lone at-bat in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Cowser entered the game as a defensive replacement for Ryan O'Hearn in the top of the eighth inning, and he was able to make some noise on offense with his go-ahead blast a half-inning later. The homer was Cowser's first since May 26 and just his second since the start of May, as his hot start to the year has faded. He's batting just .196 over his last 16 contests, though Cedric Mullins' struggles at the plate have allowed Cowser to maintain a decent share of playing time. The 24-year-old is slashing .234/.324/.436 with eight homers, four stolen bases, 29 RBI and 27 runs scored across 216 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:09 am
